:iagree:I've gotten marring from cleaning brake dust while using a QD/ONR and microfiber. IMO there is no safe way to clean brake dust without lots of water. While you won't get full on swirls you will dull the finish of the wheels after repeated long term use.
The brake dust repellents do work and improve things quite a bit, but I finally won the battle when I upgrade to Akebono pads. No more issues and the wheels stay clean for a long time.
Akebono pads are they greatest for significantly reducing brake dust. Between newe pads and Opti-coat my wheels are sooooooo easy to maintain.
