Akebono pads are they greatest for significantly reducing brake dust. Between newe pads and Opti-coat my wheels are sooooooo easy to maintain.
 
switch to akebono pads. i learned this from the forum. have done a bunch of research and these ceramic pads are for real. no dusting or noise. placed an order today for pads and sensors for wifes mb. many euro car use them oem. best source i found was place for brakes in miami. list was $171. got them for $76 delivered.

doug it may have been you who put me on the akebono pads earlier this wk! see my post just after your last one. happy tksgiving.

I use ironx, sonax, and royal brown....but any of them require I get the hose out and something gets wet.

The swiffer is perfect (at least, so far for me it has been) for in-between maintenance - when I've driven enough to accumulate dust on the wheels, but the rest of the car is in good shape (I California dust and QD fairly frequently) between washes and rainy days.
 
I keep a swiffer in the glovebox, and use it anytime I need a quick wipedown.

It won't remove and product you have on there, and only picks up the dust. My cars don't get TOO dusty, so a single swiffer will last years.

EDIT- I use it for interior surfaces, I've never used it for brake dust.

They do seem pretty rough but,that's what I prefer to get MY exhaust pipe clean.
