I got my new dewalt 849X in saturday, as soon as i took it out of the fed-ex man's hands i started buffing, i already had optimum foam pads and wool pads that i got on bogo before i ordered the buffer because i knew it was coming! I used the red foam pad and m205 and polished my truck, which i really need to stop polishing so much, its becoming a monthly habbit to re-polish and seal! but i love polishing it. i have only used a rotary when i worked in a body shop last summer while going to school, but my truck turned out flawless, ill post pics. I have been getting more side jobs and the word is spreading quickly around my small town about me buffing cars.It started as a hobby now its becoming a part time job buts thats a good thing in this economy!
So anyways..
I mostly work on scratched up chevrolet trucks, for thats the only kind of trucks you find in my town. People hunt out of their daily drivers and scratch them to pieces in the woods. Its very typical for the dogbox to be left in the trucks when i detail them haha.
My PC was not holding up to these huge trucks and it was taking me forever to get these things right. So i bought the dewalt rotary for this purpose.
I have a 2008 4 door silverado coming thursday for swirls and woods scratches, i have already evauluated the paint and the woods scratches arent deep at all. I have hyper spray compound and polish and plan to use them with my optimum pads, the only problem is that ive never used a wool pad before!!!
Any advice on busting these swirls and scratches with the optimum wool pad?
