I recently registered here, but just wanted to share the results I got with the Blackfire products...

I am an avid motorcyclist and regularly do track days on my Kawasaki ZX6R or Aprilia RSV-R Mille. I also am an avid custom painter and do many track bikes for other people as a hobby. I just finsihed this bike, and the owner gave me some creative leeway, so I did a blue faded into black and then added some lightning bolts. I typically just leave them as they come out of the paint booth since the finish is usually excellent as it is, but I decided to play with this one a little bit and color sanded with 2000 grit and then hit it with the Blackfire compound with orange pad, then the finishing polish with white pad (Lake Country pads on Porter Cable dual action) and finished it off with the Blackfire Wet Diamond paint protection. You can see in these pics that it looks like glass!

Prior to trying the blackfire products, I have used XMT, Menzerna, and 3M products, and have been very impressed with the Blackfire stuff.

Hello and welcome, sharp bike and those products worked well for you. I've never owned a street bike, but have rode more than a few miles off road.

Thanks. It was my first attempt at air brush work. A bit crude, but ok for a track bike. This was the sencont time I had repaired that set of bodywork for the guy, so there is no telling how long it will last before crashing again. Lots of repeat customers doing this stuff! The shortest I had a paint job last was less than one lap before getting screwed up.

I decided to join up here for more tips on detailing and so far have been VERY happy with the results I have been getting. I am doing an Audi A6 for a co-worker next weekend that is in dire need of correction. I will post up pics when I do that one..

That is a customer bike. He wrecked at his last track day and turned everything over to me for repait and paint....

This is my current track bike... I did the paint on this one as well....
