Looks like its time for a new truck - really hated to loose this one. I spent countless hours - thanks to all your tips and suggestions - keeping this one looking new. If your wondering, someone dropped their cell phone, leaned over to pick it up and drove across 2 lanes of traffic head-on into me. I've already told the truck dealer not to wash or wax my new truck. Red again - Red Rules. After claying, I'd like to know what y'all would recommend. I know this will be open to many opinions but I'd like to get the new one right from the start. Thanks to everyone for your devotion to this site and putting up with newbees like me.

Sorry to hear bout the truck..BUT at least you are still with us! (For the new toy..seal and put a couple coats of wax maybe?)

Man, I am so sorry about that. I feel your pain. When you get your new truck detail it and post on Show N shine...

sorry to hear about your truck . by the way you going ot get a diesel?? thats the way to go

Man sorry about your truck, it's good you're ok! Damn those people who bend over to get something on the floor, they just don't use common sense. THey can't stop and park somewhere before picking something up from the floor. What kind of truck are you going to get?

Sorry to see the truck in that condition...

But you better get another RED truck....nothing looks better on a truck...and it has to be a Ford.....LOL....

AL

Trucks can be replaced people can't , Glad your well

What was the other person driving? Hitting a Superduty is going to cause one big boo boo to the offending vehicle, and looking at yours, could imagine what their vehicle must have looked like.

Good reason to get a diesel now.....I'm a Ford guy, but the new 6.7 Cummins and 6 speed auto is a torque ripping combo:awesome:

sorry to hear the bad news...glad to see your ok

I think he was talking about the Dodge with the 6.7 Cummins.

Wow! I also want to know what happened to the other vehicle. So sorry about what happened to your truck. Glad that you are OK. Love the big Ford SD's.
That's one of the things I hate......seeing people on their cellphones while driving. Most can't seem to stay in their own lane, and stray into oncoming traffic (ME!!) when they go around a corner. That's happened to me numerous times while going to work. And what gets me, is that some of them give you dirty looks as if you were doing something wrong by being so close to their vehicle. Umm, Wrong!! You are halfway in my lane!
OK, time to take my blood pressure meds now.

New Truck Time Update

 Here's to all of you and your kind thoughts and condolences. The other vehicle was a 96 GMC 1/2-ton and it wasn't a pretty site. Impact speed was - me 30; him 45-50 -- in a 30 mph zone no less. Totally demolished the front of his truck right to the windshield, bent the truck in half at the cab/box junction so the frame was touching the ground. I'll never drive anything less then a 250 (3/4 ton) again - it made the difference and took the impact Thank God. My frame was bent/stretched 3 different ways.

About Fords - I think there great. Have had 4 in the last 15 years - '91 F150 w/275,000; '95 Ranger w/385,000; '01 F150 w/195,000 & my '06 250 w/16,000 before it was crunched. Never any trouble with each. But to each his own and that's why we have choices, I just go with what has worked for me.

As far as the diesel - I appreciate your input. I know it's a kickass power machine, my friend regularly pulls a backhoe with his. My towing requirements are a little less severe - just a Bobcat around town occasionally. I've got a small dump truck for anything further or heavier. The price on the diesel is $7,000 more and I have never been able to get use to the diesel engine noise. But I will give it some consideration.

Thanks again.

with the diesel when i stomp on the gas peddle i can blow some nice coal out the tailpipe on to the car behind me if hes pissing me off:D and with the exhaust in installed wow what power it has now. good luck with what you decide
