Corey, congrats brother! I've always loved what you've brought to the detailing community and think Carpro made a great choice with the person they have representing them. I find Carpro innovative in the products they bring out and yourself innovative in your reviewing skills, a perfect match!

Corey is a great guy. When I've had questions about stuff he has always answered all my questions.
and that wont change because Meghan and Corey have a great relationship. This can be a WIN-WIN proposition!
Corey needs to make a few sales for himself and sells products that AG doesnt stock, like Orange Peel Pads. So check his great site out and order some way cool stuff that hasnt been available in the US.. . Purchase some of these neat products!

Meghan is a class act and so is Corey!

This is all very interesting.

Although I must join in and wish Corey all the best in his new venture, I just have to pause to wonder about this industry.

The CarPro corporate site says that this new site is their own store.
Is that true ? If so, why are they competing with their own customers like AutoGeek ?

It is a free country. Competitive capitalism will allow consumers like us to get the best price. Carpro will get more customers and AG will be just fine.

This is not some communist third world nation where you buy everything from one place.

same reason such companies as chemical guys have their own site they sell lots of stuff on but still have their stuff sold by others. reaches a larger database and gets their name and product out more

Yes it is their store.

Carpro sells worldwide, and needs representatives in each country to help with questions. Imagine trying to answer every question on every forum worldwide. And still try and invent new products, that's an impossible task. So you have representatives, kinda like Chris at optimum, he has his own store and even though AG sells optimum the competition is healthy to keep prices in check. Representatives take the brunt of the questions and if they can't answer they contact the man himself. As per forum rules you won't see the representatives trying to link their own personal website and will be here to answer any questions you have regarding their line. Hope this kinda makes sense as its just my take.

My friend, competitive capitalism has nothing to do with competing with your own customers.

Let us say, that you were a Professional detailer and had a nice business.
You bought all of your supplies and equipment from CarGeek.
One day, CarGeek says gee I think that competitive capitalism is a great idea.
I will start offering detailing in my customers backyard. In fact since I am the source of all of the supplies I can give great discounts to my customers clientle and bring down the cost of the detailing service to them and compete with my customer for this limited clientle base.

Wow the consumer really wins , so that is great as he is getting a better price.
Now you the detailer has to cut your prices to stay competitive and give up a portion of your clientiele to the new low cost competitor in town.

I am doubtful that as a customer of Cargeek you would feel warm and fuzzy towards their new venture to take your business from you while you continue to fund their ventures by buying from them.

Chemical Guys need all the help they can get to get their out in a coherent manner.

That's why CarGeek would never do that, as they would be cutting off the hand that feeds them. Manufactors may have their own web sites, but you won't find it cheaper than their distributors. Same reason, cutting off the hand that feeds them.

Largebore, what does Carpro care? They are selling products no matter what. They are either selling in bulk and low prices to AG or they are selling fewer quantities from their store to end consumers. For Carpro it's win/win.

Now if I were AG and I was the only US Car Pro distributor and then CarPro opened their own store, I would be very upset...however this is the real world, and AG would do the same if not worse to their resellers, so it's all the same in the end.
