New Version ONR?

Several possible reasons for the new exposure

1. There is a formula change coming because many of the competing products have been revising formulas/packaging and new competitors (Black Fire, Durgaloss) and Optimum wants to stay competitive

2. No formula change but Optimum is promoting it through pricing deals because of the reasons in reason 1.

I always bet on red. My .02.

When we have a new formula that we've tested and it shows improved performance, we usually just sit on it till we deplete inventory. There's no need to rush it to market and just discount the current offering. We actually had the latest tire shine on the back burner for more than a year. And we constantly have new formulas under development.

And as for Optimum following a trend in rinseless washing...well...I think we've set the pace and will continue to do so.

I know I'm now addicted to it !! Had a bottle on the shelf for almost a year and finally decided to try it. Been using it weekly for the last month or so and can't believe how well it works.

My prediction on the new formula arrival is May. Purely speculation tho

Missed it by that much.

I just got an email from buyOPTdirect.com announcing a new version of ONR.

You best be posting quote that e-mail in quotes, or it'll be the gallows for you!:xyxthumbs:

FYI ! FYI.. Just got an email from Optimum.. NEW 2012 ONR.

It's only been two years since we reformulated the most revolutionary detailing product made, but Dr. G has done it again! Better cleaning while remaining safe and more gloss without sacrificing the attributes you've grown to love...the 2012 release of No Rinse Wash & Shine will be your first choice for rinse-less washing. If you are new to rinseless washing, there's never been a better time to try it!

This unique product contains substantive polymers which bond to the paint and protect it during the wash. Therefore, No Rinse™ Wash & Shine offers greater protection and lubricity than conventional car washes leaving a sleek & glossy finish behind afterwards. The waste water in the bucket can be used to water the lawn or disposed of into a sink, where it will be treated!

Additional benefits are faster washes, ability to wash anywhere at anytime including washing inside the garage during the cold months, no messy water runoffs, and greater looking car finishes. These are some of the reasons No Rinse™ Wash & Shine is being used by many professional detailers across the country.

I have 4 No Rinses: DP, CG, BF and ONR(v2).....They're all fine, but BF is my favorite....can't really see ONR(v3) out doing it, but we'll see.

What no Duragloss ?? Just kidding !!!

There are some many to select from, I would like to see a comparison chart similiar to the waxes, pads, swirl removers and compounds, etc. What are the best area of each product.

That way you can select based on price and your needs, etc.

I would like to see what has been done to improve ONR, from the previous versions.

I've got about half gallon of V2 left. Works the same today as it did yesterday. Great product. I have an unopened gallon of DP to try next. I'll probably crack it open sometime before I run out of ONR so I can compare. Would be great to see Corey do a comparison shootout. Some of the competitors aren't even close to competing based on price but some of them are spot on in that regard.

If it weren't for the fact that gallon sizes are such a better deal than quarts or pints, I would probably pick up a pint size duragloss and BF rinseless.

Isn't this version of ONR actually Version 4?

Yep, Non blue, blue lemonish 2007, blue mulberry 2010, new blue 2012
Just ordered 2 gallons of the new ONR.. will by trying it sometime next weekend if it is not raining. Never tried the previous versions, so I can't offer any comparisons, but will be happy to give a review if anyone is interested.

I was wondering if there is a youtube video on using ONR as a detailer. The suggested dilution is 8oz/gallon.. but was wondering how people use it on youtube.

You may want to check you dilution rate. 8oz of ONR is enough for at least 4 washes for me , more if my ride is not very dirty.

The dilution ratio is correct, but as you said, I won't need a full gallon to use it as a QD. I could add 2oz to 32oz water and maintain the same ratio.

Here is the suggested dilution ratios per OptimumForums:

Use as rinseless wash: 1oz per 2 gallons of water
Use as a claying lubricant: 2oz per gallon of water
Use as QD: 8oz per gallon of water

Yes as a quick detailer that will work. I did not see that part of your post mentioning a quick detailer. I thinking you were using that dillution rate for a wash. just wanted to be sure you were not using that much per wash.

Hi, new poster here. I recently purchased the 32 oz bottle of ONR from AutoGeek on 2/22 when it did say on the page that it was "new and improved". How do I know if what I have is version 3? Is it supposed to have a sticker that says "New Formula"...because mine didn't have it on there. :( Thanks for any responses. :props:
