New Wheel Sealing

I have searched the forums, and found a few results, but nothing conclusive...

I have a set of new wheels in the boxes to go on our car in the next few weeks. I had the tire shop give them to me to seal/polish/wax before they touched them. TSW Donington Painted Aluminum fronts, with grey paint on the inside.

What should I use? These are summer wheels for a 2012 Kia Optioma SX.

Additionally, I need to clean up the factory wheels that will hold winter tires for the same car. Polished look fronts (really painted) with grey inside.

And lastly I need to get the summer wheels on my old Saturn Protected. They are a couple months old but still pretty clean. Less expensive Aluminum Painted wheels.

Suggestions I have read:
Collinite 845
Migliore
Opti-Seal
Ultim Trim and Tire Guard

The new wheels just probably will get Klasse cleaner, then protectant.

The already installed wheels I plan to clay/APC then protect.

What will protect the longest and allow me to stick to my standard cleaning with my Daytona Speed Master & classic OXO wheel brush?

Hi Don,

All of the products you mention will provide a level of protection but won't last all that long. Are they better than nothing? Yes, but your wheels see a very harsh environment so I'd suggest Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0...rops:

I've used just about everything on BMW wheels and the best in holding up and protecting will be a coating like OC. Second choice whould be a couple coats of Rejex which is on BOGO currently and third choice 845 or a wheel sealant like PB wheel sealant.

I just OC'd my summer wheels and barrels this past winter and can't believe how little effort it takes to clean them now. There is much less brake dust that sticks to the wheel and what's there is easily removed with car soap and a soft mf...

imo, dont go with a dedicated wheel sealant, being as most wheels are clear coated same as the paint on your car, you can use the same products....so dedicated wheel sealants are pointless. id go with opti-coat or collinite 845, my favorite wheel sealant is wolfgang deepgloss paint sealant, reason why is because if i apply it too heavy it will still remove with ease. i use this stuff on chrome and raw aluminum....if you go with opti-coat you will have plenty left to do your winter wheels and your whole car and then some.
