New wheels - How many of you would take difficulty of cleaning into consideration?

I am looking at new wheels for my truck. I have ruled out several because they have too many crevices and would likely be a pain in the arse to clean. Anyone else take that into consideration?

Absolutely!

That was my main concern when I went with a different year of stock wheels.

While wheels like BBS mesh wheels are cool, they are no fun to clean.
 
I’d buy some of those 20 plus spoke aluminum wheels and consider it a challenge:)

Seriously, I like my wheels stock and very minimalistic in design. Another thing to consider is wheel & tire size. I don’t like my tires costing more than $150 per tire. No 20 in wheels for this guy.

Cleaning my multi spoke wheels was always a chore. Not anymore. :)

Well...I have 17's and 1 winter tire was $165, it's not the size so much but construction.

Also, my wife's 17's for her Mazda 6 were probably $150 a piece but then again I NEVER cheap out on tires! The days of 14/15's across the board are over.

If i were you I wouldn’t worry too much about the wheel’s cleaning difficulty, just choose the wheel that catch your eyes and leave the cleaning to good product like sonax wheel cleaner full effect and a couple of nice wheel whoolies

I've generally put custom wheels on my vehicles. I just ordered a new van and took the cheapest steel wheels because they come with a wheel cover design that will be super easy to clean (I can even pop them off to coat them) and cover the barrels so you can't see them. Bugs me to have dirty wheel barrels so I won't have to mess with that any more. Lazy for the win!
 
Not only do I consider how easy a wheel is to clean, but I also consider the type of finish on the wheel as well.

For ease of cleaning, I like more simple designs that are open enough I can get a good brush around everything. There are some really good looking wheels similar to what is on a BMW GTS, but the patterns near the hub would be a nightmare to keep clean. The number of spokes is a consideration too, though I picked up a set of OZ wheels last summer and blew away my own rules.

As for finish, I want the whole wheel painted or powder coated. I'm not on my third vehicle with OEM wheels containing sections of brushed metal covered by a clear coat. On all three vehicles, the clear coat over those brushed metal areas fractured, bubbled, and started to flake off leaving the allow under it to corrode. I'd never buy a similar type wheel if ever given a choice.
