new wheels

I don't know about chrome all the way. I love the polished Al look and I'm willing to devote the time to them to keep them in great condition. Granted I don't have any small spokes to polish, just nice big round areas.

As far as Mother's Billet polish, it is the least abrasive product they make and is what I use. The mag and aluminum polish is more abrasive and will make your wheels cloudy looking. At least it did on mine. I just use it for deeper scratches if I get them.

I may try out some poorboys sealant if it works. Does it make the wheels a bit cloudy too?

I have heard that chrome is much easier to care for but I chose aluminum because I thought it would have better longevity. I was kind of nervious that chrome may pit or peel a lot faster than aluminum.

killr thank you for all the info. and thanks to everyone else, it looks like I have some reading to do about the products suggested.

The only place they dont seem to oxidize is in the guest bedroom ... too bad that makes it hard to drive around town.

Is that what you do with them when you put your winter set on for down here:D

I have Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish (said it was for all metals) and used it on my chrome wheels. Then read the small words on the back that said not recommended for chrome or any plating, didn't seem to do anything though.

I like my woman with "tile" versus "carpet" (oops).... but I much prefer carpet on my soft little toes. My wife fell in love with this Mohawk reminent ... its actually a very dark teal, and matches the bedspread and offsets the grey blinds. ( I feel like I should have said that with a lis'pe)

More importantly - does the carpet match the drapes?

SORRY! I just couldn't help myself.

WOW this got a little off subject. :D You guys are a great crowd!!

Thank you for all the good info. I have one more question....
What would you recommend using when applying Mothers Billet, a foam pad, cotton pad, or a micro fiber towel? I bought the MB yesterday but thought oh…wait I’m not sure what applicator to use for this job. For those that have used this product do you see any hazing after buffing it off? Just curious as to what I can expect.

no hazing with it at all and I apply with either my powerballs or microfiber towels. Don't use your first quality ones though. I use the little white and gray ones from Target and they work good.

Mothers Powerball Mini .... it rocks !!!!!!!!

I have microfiber towels just for use on the wheels. I was thinking of using a foam pad to apply the billet polish.

You can try, but I bet it'll be clumsy and won't work very well.
