Ok, I unfortunately have found this site, and am now a crack head. Took a while to get all the acronyms down but think i'm on the right track. Just finished doing a complete paint cleansing and put down a coat of FK100P. I'm looking to put on a second coat, but am wondering what the correct prep is before doing so. Wash and dry and then go on? Would a IPA wipe be good, or strip the base coat? Thanks to you all in advance, and thanks for all the information this site provides. Even if it means I have something new to be OCD about (wife loves it.....)/.

How long has it been since your first coat and have you driven around in the car since then?

If you just put it on and your car is clean, I say just apply the second coat.

If you drove it around, it's best to just wash it then add the second coat.

How long ago did you apply the FK1000P? An IPA wipe down would seriously degrade your current protection. The best way to go is to do a wash and dry then apply another coat.
Edit: spardavr4 beat me to it.

Welcome to AGO!!

Depends on how dirty the car is. Ensure it is clean and dry either by a wash, rinseless, or waterless, as necessary.

Do not use IPA - will strip your first layer.

Thanks for the speedy responses!! Put it on on Sunday, and it has rained the last couple days, so a thorough washing is for sure. Thanks again.

IPA dissolves oils, so FK would be stripped if you used it!
