Hello,
First let me thank everyone on this forum. I got into detailing very recently and the wealth of info here and elsewhere has been invaluable.
Recently got a 2017 Corolla SE from a dealer that was undergoing heavy construction—the car was covered in dust the first time I saw it. After claying for the first time the paint is much smoother and I no longer feel grittiness with my bare hand; however, the plastic baggie test revealed plenty of grit remaining. I’m confident I used the clay properly—lots of lube, clayed each panel until the surface felt smooth and the clay looked clean). I’m not sure what to try next to get rid of these contaminants. Iron X followed by reclaying?
Also, would it be best to strip my Collinite 845 before doing further decontamination and if so what product would you recommend?
