Hello to all, joined the forum a few days ago and have been busy, this is my first chance to post. I have to say that out of all the websites about detailing, this is by far the best. Just got a Subaru 2003 Forester a few months ago with very low mileage and in very good condition. I vowed never to take it through a car wash and the information I have found on autogeek is priceless!!!!!!!!! The previous owner left a box of Turtle wax Ice products which is what I started off with. I figured I would give them a try since they were free. I got good results, maybe not professional and have used them up and order different stuff from the website. My first experience washing the car had me soaked with a clean dry nice looking car. After that time I had search other forums about keeping dry while washing a car. Several suggested a cloth apron but that will also get wet, another suggested a rain suit, a rubber apron, rubber gloves and boots. I ordered a rubber apron and rubber gloves, and with a pair of hip boots and a rain suit it keeps me dry. I am kind of messy when I wash the car especialy when I use the foam gun and the gear keeps me dry while the rubber apron helps to protect the car I lean against it. My car is silver metalic and never looks dirty but plenty of dirt does come off of it. I wash the car once a week and will be looking to get a coat of wax on it for the winter. Thanks again to Meghan and all of you at Autogeek for a great informative website.
