Newbie! Making the plunge tomorrow!!! Need some advice (more like reassurance)

My package has been delivered! Not sure when I will be able to get to it due to work and weather but looking forward to it. So to get some details straightened out should I go with the white or orange thinpro pads using the hd speed? From what I have read seems like orange may be the right one to go with but the white makes me feel a little better since it's my first go at this. Any chance I can royally screw my paint up? Also, what speed with my gg6? 4?

Try the white first in a test spot and see of you like the correction results. I'm sure you'll revert to the orange pad with Speed. Start out with speed 4 on the GG6. Do some reading and watch some videos on using a DA, you'll be fine.

I bet you're pretty excited.
It depends on the condition of your paint. If your paint has moderate swirls I'd just go ahead and start with the Orange pads @ speed 4.5.

You might want to look into ironx before you clay the vehicle. Like you I read and watched videos till my head was spinning. Just watch a you tube video on ironx, will blow your mind. Did our white 2014 and just stood in awe.

Stop the madness!! I ordered iron-x today. AG shorted me two pads so I'm having to wait until they come in next week before I start so figured I mine as well add that to th shipment!

Finally got around to detailing my truck and it turned out really well for a rookie I think. It took me about 7 hours but could see getting it done quicker next time. I was amazed out how easy the speed came off. Very impressive stuff. My steps went as followed: wash, dry, iron-x, rinse, dry, nanoskin, speed (whole vehicle), remove by hand, spray wax, buff off. If there is anything I should do different let me know. My lighting was awful but here's an after pic. My before picture turned out blurry. View attachment 47753

I do have a problem and I'm not sure what happened. My window trim and plastic moulding in between passenger side windows looks awful. While I was Rinsing off the iron-x I noticed that the moulding around my windows was bleeding black. After I was finished I could get a damp rag and just lightly run it across the moulding and it would be completely black. Trying to fix this I used 303 cleaner and protectant on everything black around my windows on the passenger side. So this morning I look at it and it is awful. The driver side is normal so I'm thinking it was from the 303. So my questions are:

1. Could the iron-x have caused the black bleeding from the moulding?
2. Is there a way to draw out the oil or fix this awful discoloration?
3. If I do get my moulding back to the way it was and its still "bleeding" is there a way to stop it?
