Newbie to polishing

I just got my PCXP yesterday, couldnt wait. I went out and tried it on an old car with Groits Machine polish #3. I only had the white pad that came with it. It was decent resluts and I know I skipped alot of pre steps (thanks to reading it all on here). Now I am back looking for pads. I have read alot of post and all the pads are a grey blur in my mind now. Ha
This is what I am looking to buy now- Lake Country Kompressor 7 inch 6 Pack
Whith this backing plate- Dual-Action Hook & Loop Flexible Backing Plate 5"

How am I doing? Heading in the right direction?

Please critique and suggest.

You want the 5.5 inch flat pads. The kompressor pads are not going to work very well with your da.

Also throw away that pad that came with the PC.
