Newbie with Sand Paper

Ok here i go with 2 Things

1) Im finding hard to know which is the least aggressive sanding paper? 1000, 1500 , 2000 ?

And what will be Flow if we opt Sanding.

Is Ascending number like :- 1000,1500,2000,2500
Or
Descending Numbering like :- 2500,2000,1500,1000 ?


2) Which Sand papers are Much Preferred 3M or Maguires ?

The smaller the number on sandpaper the more aggressive it is.Example on a paint correction you might start with 1500 and then 2500 and if required 3000.Meguiars papers are what I use and I have had no problems over the yrs

Also let the sandpaper soak in water for 30 minutes to soften the paper before you start.
