Hi guys. I purchased a brand new car for my wife about a month ago and finally got around to detailing it. It has been washed weekly and is parked in a parking garage when she is at work and a garage at home. Can you guys double check my thought process:

1. I washed it and was surprised to find that the entire vehicle needed to be clayed.

2. Clayed with Griot's clay and Speed Shine.(Got my wife to help clay:xyxthumbs:)

3. Used a wax and grease remover from O'reilly's and let it dry.

4. Applied Klasse SG with a foam pad and buffed with a damp MF and dry MF.

Questions:

Do you think using straight speed shine will strip some of the SG when removing residue while buffing with the MF?

I didn't have time to apply a second coat so when I do this weekend can I just wash and apply another coat of SG?

I applied SG to all paint, chrome trim, and taillights/headlights. Can I also coat the window trims and glass?

Can I use the SG on her chrome wheels or would I be better off just putting a carnbua wax or another product on them?

I was given a gallon of ZEP carnuba wax and was thinking of topping the SG with it. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice/critiques.

Your process was good GG speed shine wont hurt the layer of protection you put on the paint work you can put klasse sg on glass, wheels and paint but not on black trim because it will turn it chalky white a little suggestion try some Chemical guys citrus wash and gloss it can strip your lsp and be a maintness wash

Thanks for the reply and the tip on the black trim. Glad you said something because I was going to coat that also. I wish I knew about the Chemical guys citrus wash because it would have saved a step and probably a good bit of cash.

To answer you question about the layering. You'll need to wait 12~24 hours before putting down a second coat of SG. I forget what the bottle says.

Another option is to wait until you have more time at a later date. Then just do a normal wash and hit the car with another coat of SG.

Thanks man. I knew about waiting 8-12 hrs to re-apply but wanted to make sure a normal wash was all that was needed for the SG to adhere to the previous coat of SG. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

As long as you don't put anything else on there like a quick detailer or spray wax in between you'll be fine.

Thanks. I have used Griot's Speed Shine on a few spots after a rain but I guess as long as I give it a good wash I will be ok.
