Sweet mercy, I thought the world if IT was chocked full of acronyms, but this place takes the cake! Is there a handy reference list that newbs such as myself can pour over to help us acclimate to the various products that are being bandied about?

Worse thing about those dreaded decoder ring is they alway seem to say, "Drink Your Ovaltine."

No ignorance here at all and personally I have no use for acronyms. I spell everything out so there's no confusion or misunderstanding. All purpose cleaner is just that...Not APC

Acronyms are the craze today. They are those time saving shortcuts that generate so many threads like this that do nothing but confuse the viewer and actually make them feel somewhat intimidated because of this lack of knowledge.

Acronyms are venue based which means you'll need lists upon lists of acronyms depending on when and where they're used. These little gems made sense in the Army but in civilian life they're nothing more then nuisance.....My opinion of course, something I'm an expert on.....

Examples.

AG

Autogeek
Autoglym
Al Gore

APC

All Purpose Cleaner
Armored Personal Carrier
Air Pollution Control

PC

Porter Cable
Personal Computer
##### Cat

Just my 3 cents worth....OK, maybe 4 cents...

The worst is getting lost on YouTube. One minute your looking at different exhausts for your car. The next thing you know your fixated on a fat Korean man riding an invisible horse. :(

My memory lane usually ends up a dead end, CRS(can't remember $h!t) or as my wife calls it OFS(old fart syndrome)
