Walked my dog around the block this morning. On the road behind me I see a guy drying off his Pathfinder...he drops the rag that he's drying with...picks it up and keeps drying without missing a beat. Then I see my neighbors brand new black car with a wax spreader with a wool bonnet on it sitting on the back of his car.

It's the cross we all must bear.....and it's not easy sometimes....

I go to several car shows in my area. Many times it rains and you see guys taking a bath towel out and wiping down a show car. It just goes to show you that the paint finish isn't a high priority with judges as much as what the car represents.

The neighbor with the black car has been on this site...has a PC and pads and some product. I hope he didn't start spinning that wool on that new black paint. lol

Interesting...I assume it's different in the shine and show competitions or no??

Where I live and go to these, its all how many guys you know and that like you. I've seen some real disasters take top award where the really nice cars don't get squat.

When I see some of my neighbours using mops, brooms, etc. I get a chill down my spine...

My neighbor washes her car with a squeegee. I just grin and bare it...

I've watched my neighbor shake out her floor mats by beating them against the car.

I've seen my next door neighbor use his sock over his hand to wax his car one day.

At least your neighbors try to wash their cars. The cars where I live get washed when it rains only.
