Ugh, I just found out some guy at my work is "detailing" one of our vehicles we own that we use for product photography.

He is using a Dewalt Rotary with a 7" wool pad and what looks like 3M Marine Compound.
He also claims he's been detailing cars for 20 years. He's 25 years old at best.

I'm terrified how this is gonna end. Apparently he was given permission......

Stay tuned.

Chill and wait until its really train wrecked and then you can offer your professional services to repair it!

Sadly I feel like at that point there will be no paint left to fix.

How are you not the in-house person for detail advice? That they wouldn't ask you what this guy should be using and how he should be using it? Oh...I forgot, he's been detailing since he was 5...

Hey kitty not sure what you do for a living, is it in the detail field? lol can't wait to see the pics of the hooogram mess

This is interesting! By any chance do you know what he drives? If so take a glance, anyone detailing for 20 years probably keeps a sharp ride. Second, you probably have the finest looking car in the lot, and they have someone else do it? This is crazy.

I'm guessing this jackass volunteered to detail it for free.

No idea... although I'm guessing it's because I'm female.

No, I'm a graphic artist. But I detail on the side.

He drives an old, beat up Jeep.

What?!?!?!? Why did they not hire you?!

I don't know. I'm more concerned about that hack job he's going to do.

I'm guessing he offered for free as well. But you get what you pay for ;)

Is there going to be aftermath pics? :)

HECK YES!

Dang, that's awful! I'll be wounded big time if that happened to me!

Sounds like sexual discrimination! And that's a shame!

Hope you'll save the day when the time comes!

Tom

Well, This might be a blessing in disguise, If he leaves the paint filled with holograms, You will point them out! And like Mike Phillips says, If the person didnt do it right the 1st time they arent going to fix it the second.

You will save the day! lol

and this vehicle is used for photographic purposes too?!!!

Monica, on the day he does it, get a lawn chair and a six pack and set up about 30 feet away.

The second he grabs his first tool to do the job, point and laugh hysterically.

Then keep saying "Nope! Good guess though!".:laughing::laughing:

His personal vehicle is not used.

I'm not upset that he is doing this vs me. I'm just surprised he is, period.

I'm hoping he doesn't mess things up too bad.

Better be some good before and afters!!
