I have a nikon d3200 and wondering what setting to shoot when looking at paint and swirls and other stuff and to get a beauty shot?

I depends on the lighting and everything. What you should do is read zachs articles on photos and another I did was take photos in auto and see what the camera made as settings

The only thing I can add is to focus manually; you will capture the faults that way.
