Nilfisk Alto?

Hey everyone! First post here(outside of my introduction), so I'm not sure I'm in the right neighborhood, but hopefully I'm close. So here is my issue. I just started managing a detailing facility. I inherited everything, and have next to no direction. Upon inspection I find 4 Nilfisk Alto's being used in my shop. When I move into the storage room, I find that I have no less than 5 Wap and Nilfisk vacuums torn apart and broken. Great! Being tech savvy I figured I'd have no problem finding some parts and getting some suckers going. Whoa. 400 bucks for a rebuilt motor? 1,000 for the vacuum? Seems unreasonable. Suction is suction, right? Is there any advantage to these vacuums when I could pick up a couple of Rigid or Craftsman vacs that I can tack a warranty on, and never have to worry about again? Feed back please
 
I believe Nilfisk is a HEPA filtration vacuum. I work in a cleanroom environment and we only use nilfix inside the cleanrooms while the rest of the plant uses Dayton brand wet/dry vacuums.

@Shoeless, thank you for your honest answer! haha it's not too often you see that.

Edse, you're absolutely right, the Nilfisk is HEPA certified, so I'm going to keep the ones I have around to use on special instances. Folks with allergies and the like. They are definitely great vacs! I just have a hard time justifying spending 4, 5, 600 dollars in repairing one, when I can buy 3 new Rigids for half the price lol
 
I've seen those used at the refinery in the carpenter shop. I thinks its overkill for detailing. I use and everywhere I've seen for the most part, uses Rigid. Lifetime warranty on the motor which if you had a Rigid, you wouldn't be looking at spending $600 to fix haha. My favorite vac is the Metro Vac N' Blo, but I still use the Rigid first to pick up all the nasty stuff that won't fit into the Metro. Yes I'm lazy when it comes to picking up trash, I'd mmuch rather play the "will it fit through the hose" game and suck up everything that I can. Plus I am a germaphobe and don't/won't touch tissues or other funk.
