Guestimate about 35 dedicated hours

I did do a less extensive detail 2 1/2 months prior.

This was my 1st detail on my car(or any) that involved heavy paint correction

Tires and wheels
Meguiars Non Acid Tire and Wheel Cleaner about 60% strength
Detailers Pro Series for the tire gloss

Wash
Chemical Guys Snow Foam wash (foam gun and two bucket)
Carpro Iron and Tar remover
quick wipe with Meguiar Rinsefree Express Wash D114

Clay combo
Wolfgang Elastic Poly and Wolfgang Lubricant

Engine Bay
Blackfire Waterless Wash
Poorboys Trim Restorer
*Wasn't too dirty, so played it extra safe here.*

Mouldings, Exterior Trim
Wolfgang Trim Sealant

Metal piece that behind the trunk
Poorboys Pro Polish 2
EZ Crème Glaze

Windows
Detailers Pro Series AIO Cleaner window tint safe Polish
P21s Total Auto Wash - for the exhaust and to touch up the wheels/tires

w/the Porter Cable 7424XP
Menzerna Power Finish PF2500
Menzerna Super Finish SF4500

combination of orange, white, green CCS 5.5 pads
Orange, white CCS 3.0 pads

By hand:
Klasse AIO

Most of the car was done with a one step correction. Two areas I went with a two step. One I wasn't looking to get it all out for now (thin but pretty deep) so I held off the compound for the time being but I made a little less noticeable, maybe even better than expected considering I went PF2500 and Orange instead of FG400. And another that was really minor that I got rid of almost all of it. I saw a couple of spots later but the clock was ticking on this project.

I ran into a couple of stuff happens issues that made this longer than it needed to be I did have a couple of issues that With that and being somewhat in a hurry in the end some small sections were just hit with Klasse and the I skipped the back part.

Probably my favorite combo was the SF4500 with the white pad on the front hood.

Before LSP
Carpro Eraser

Sealed with:
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0
Blackfire Crystal Seal

After a long highway Memorial Day road trip came back to do a quick combo Waterless Rinseless with the Blackfire line. And then toped it with Blackfire Crystal Seal.

All in all. There are some areas I could be a little bit better. But I do feel like I really getting the hang of Porter Cable. I have definitely come a long way. Now I want a Flex lol.

Any thoughts, questions, critiques from the forum are more than welcome.

My apologies for not organizing the pictures better. The 1st 6 going left to right are the before. The last 5 are after the Crystal Seal topping.

Just got a 2015 altima. Hows the paint? Soft? Hard?

I haven't even washed it yet....

Looks great..... thanks for the explanation about the order of pics. I was wondering what was going on...... then figured it out all by myself..... yay me!!!!
Seriously, you did a very good job and cleaning up a car after a road trip that was properly detailed is a heck of a lot easier than cleaning a car that wasn't detailed. "Stuff" just doesn't stick to a nice clean slick finish.

Yes. I finished up the front part 1st. So I ended up applying 2 coats of WGDP 3.0 to the front 3rd of my car before I rode on the Turnpike. The love bugs, pine tar wasn't too much a problem ;)

Congrats on the 2015 Altima. I'm in love with my car.

Tough to say because I am relatively new to this stuff with paint correcting only 2 cars and ofcourse cutting better with improved technique.

I would say about medium(ish) just me gut feeling. I polished 2007 Black Ford Focus. I would say my car would be like, on a scale 1 softest to 10 hardest, a 6. The Ford Focus would be a 4. That's me trying to compare Menzerna PF2500 on a white pad. I have heard Black paint is definently softer.

Also I have heard Nissan Altimas are a little bit on the thin side (paint), but that was from old models. I had thoroughly tested my paint thickness on my car and it wasn't too bad, I could have been more aggressive with those two scratches if I wanted. So we may have lucked out their with newer Altima models.

That is also something else I forgot to include, my PTG measurements on my post lol

This was the lower part of a door panel. This was a closeup of very minor looking scratches from who knows. I think it's important to say this part of the car was repainted. I used PF2500 on a white pad to spot buff. I thought I actually got it all. But a later inspection showed a little bit of that remained. When I came over the entire panel with SF4500 on a green panel their was no difference that I noticed. That and my experience with the rest of the car with factory paint I would say middle leaning more on hard paint.
