Nissan clear coat failure?

Friend of mine has a Nissan Titan. He's getting into detailing and has asked me for what products to start out with. First let me say I'm no pro just a weekend warrior. I recommend BF line, my personal favorite. However he used M105 and M205 on his vehicle. He notice prior to detailing "little marks" on his truck. I assumed they were swirl marks but after seeing them I notice they were not however. He stated that when he washes his truck, waxes it or uses a quick show n shine spray, the marks disappear for a while but will reappear again. I finally saw it today and took a picture. The marks are on left side of his hoodI think it maybe start of clear coat failure. What do you guys think? Looking for options besides a repaint. If that's the case he rather just trade the truck in.

I know factories are really skimping on paint. Some of the new Taurus' are shipped with just primer firewalls and no color. Could have been misaligned in the factory and never fully covered with the color coat. Just a wild guess though since it looks pretty uniform

It could be that you need to do a little polishing, compounding or both to remove the "dead skin" and revive the paintwork or clear coat/oxidation but I haven't seen Nissan's with clear coat failure or oxidation

It's hard to tell from the pic, but they look like scratches to me. Almost like the paint was dirty, and a "lady" sat her hand bag on it, then dragged it across the paint to remove it.

I thought it was on the white line on the edge since you mentioned it was on the left, sorry.
 
Meg's 105 and nissan paint, i wonder how often he used it? that said, it looks too linear for clearcoat failure tbh, that tends to be patchy. maybe try tackling a small area by hand with something like Meg's ultimate, then wipe it with panel wipe and see if the mark returns. if it does, it gets bigger, or you get paint colour transference, then its probably game over
