ok i live in NH and i am going to be the only one w/ a front licence plate... granted the car has never had one in its life. i got a $150 ticket just because im a kid w/ a 2005 vette and the cop was an ass. i need a little help from everyone. can yu please post the pics of your corvettes w/ the front plate just to show that no one has them unless the dealer put it there... and dose ne one have ne advice?.. other than putting the front plate on...

Not much you can do since it's a law to have them on in NH ... If you are really reluctant, having it on the front dash would be better than not having it at all.

I don't have a front plate on mine and it is required in VA. I have never been pulled over for it. I would think they would pull you over if you were going to fast and added that to the ticket.

Also, don't think the 'not factory installed' is going to work out like it does with window tinting in NH on the front windows ... here are a few pics of vettes with plates though.

Yea the guy that owned it before lived and worked in the same town i live in ... and he never had a prob. for 2 1/2 years... its just because im a kid. he prob thinks my daddy bought it for me... this is the whole story.... i pull up to a red light to turn left .. the cop is in heading the opposite direction and in the left turning lane to get onto the highway... sees me pulls a u turn into a park and ride... and gets in the lane to turn right to follow me... i went into a parking lot because i had to pick somone up... this was prob one tenth of a mile off the set of lights... the cop waits for me to leave in the street and pulls me over.. asks me where my front licence plate is... i tell him its in the trunk and i didnt have any way to mount the plate.. so he tells me that i need to screw the plate onto the front of the car... i asked him if where i could go to get the plate put on... granted i know how to do it... it sticks on... so he tells me ill be right back with some advice.. and comes back and hands me a 150 buck ticket....

dose ne one know where to get a decent plate bracket?

Go to Corvetteforum.com, there are several vendors that make custom front tag brackets.

Here in Colorado it's also the law. You've got to have front license plate on your car
I've been pulled over a few times both in my Z28 and in my Z06 and I've never gotten a ticket, just a warning every time
The local cops can care less about it, the state police are the ones enforcing it, and the only ones who have pulled me over for it
That said, you've gotta understand why they want you to have one
A couple of good reasons:
1- it'll help solve hit and run cases; most of the time in a hit and run accident, the front licent plate usually falls off at the scene
2-it'll help on redlight runner on intersections where a camera is in use

I still refuse to put one on my vette :D

Don't blame the police officer, and don't use the excuse that he singled you out because of your age. The fact is it is the law. Plain and simple.

When I lived in St. Louis I was suppose to have a front plate but I kept it on the dash, a few friends who have done the same have gotten a ticket for having it on the dash, but I was lucky. Now that I live in Florida I have nothing to worry about.

It is just some people get lucky and get away with it and some don't, law is the law.

just install the plate and go to the court with pictures that you have the plate on now, might save you from paying the ticket :D (make sure the plate is on the bumper and not covered in the pictures)

huh??? $150??? In California it's a fix ticket, simply put the plate back on, show it to a cop so he will sign it off, and pay $10 ticket.
But, if you don't want a front licence plate, you should of at least put a dealer plate on it...

Here's "Wah"'s car from Corvette Forum:

Just an idea.

I believe you get a ticket if you put it on your dash... I've seen crazy stuff like magnets, double tap, zip ties...

You can make a nice one with 2 flat metal bars, 2 threaded long bolts and some washers/nuts...Kinda like this one, but use another bar to clamp it to the grilling rather than the washers used, as seen in the second pic.

Or you can buy this one

Or if you are really on a budget, just foam the back of the plate and zip tie it to the lower grill.

Let me give you a tip....put the damm plate on! Trust me it is not worth the aggravation! Here in Illinois i was the same way i was so worried about putting a front plate on but I constantly got pulled over. It just gives the cops a reason to pull you over! And then they can check for other things, like insurance, if you had a drink or 2 and now your getting questioned about where you are going how much you had to drink....ETC. Suck it up and put on the plate it really is not that big of a deal. Besides there are plenty of other things that a cop can pull you over for so dont give him a constant reason to!

Well said!

If it's a state law, stop by a Corvette Dealership and see how much they would charge to install one. They also have some low profile options that you can scope out, and research later for a lower price.

I know you don't want to put a plate on, but at least NH's plates say "Live Free or Die". That's got to be one of the coolest state mottos! Wear that plate with pride :righton:
