No Jobs!! At All!!! Wow Its Bad....

The man, the myth, the legend. Ok, so it's only one out of 3.:righton:

This is the reason I decided ( a few years ago) to take a government job instead of staying in the private sector. I thought about when recession/depression hits, and everyone is lined up for unemployment/free cheese/whatever....there's someone working for a government taking care of those people that are in line.
Not as good $$ as when I was in the private sector, but steady....and good health insurance.

I just learned (two hours ago) that the project I have been working on the past six years has been scrapped effective today.

I'm cleaning out my desk and computer and will delete all of my browser bookmarks, etc. within the hour.

Time to update the resume.

Regards,
GEWB

I'm keeping all cash, being very cautious. Was looking at some new toys (cars etc), boat etc. And can easily do so right now, but now I'm not touching anything. Its going to get a lot worse. Family friend laid off 100 of his employees, almost all of them with families, he didn't have a choice, was getting to expensive.

I didn't read much other than your original post and it's probably too late for my suggestion to have a value for you this year.
Several of the lawn & landscape people around here do snow removal and put up/take down Christmas decorations. Obviously, a business contract would be great, but many individuals either can't or don't want to climb on their house or trees to string lights.

im afraid of christmas decorations...:D

trhland try you local hospital for janitorial or security. There is always something.Iget laid-off on Dec.19 but I go back early jan. I am a landscape foreman. Hang in there and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THAT LITTLE GIRL.

I know most people our age are feeling the pinch with families and such. But this latest tour that I'm doing has been doing stupid numbers in merch each night. With the way this tour has been you'd think there were no economic problems... But then again a lot of the audience probably still lives at home with their parents...

I'm a bit worried right now, with the whole housing market like it is, and me getting married in less than 3 months and still trying to find a place... Hopefully something soon will pop up that's reasonable.

trhland,

during all the time that has elapsed since your first posting, I could have worked four jobs by now!

Nothing should ever be beneath us except our feet--keep walking!

Check school system for sub jobs--they need them every day.
