Hello I want to be able to clean stains from carpeting BUT I can not afford a steam cleaner for my business.

Any tips from you pros on getting carpets "decent" without steam?

Maybe one day but not now, NO MONEY, just starting oout.

Please help.

I have: APC & brushes and aa vac.

Well you can use APC. Just don't dilute it.

Really scrub the stains (may take 2-3 treatments).

Spray down with water and vac out.

I use to hear extract all interiors, but to save time and money I learned doing it this way is just as effective.

(I think) another member posted an extractor or steamer (forgot which one it was) that they got at Harbor Freight.

(FYI I've had hit and miss purchases from Harbor Freight)

It was grey and yellow, for a lot less money. Maybe that will help?

Don't have a link sorry

Side note and Just My Opinion:
If you do go APC and brush, test it out first and make sure you are happy with the results first. There are dilutions for interior and exterior check them out as well.

Good luck

Sorry I missed them, how do I search "your posts"

I use folex available locally at Home Depot. Spray, scrub, spray water and shop vac. Don't use hot water. Hot water sets the stain.

The harbor freight is a great steamer... for the price. I use one along with my extractor and da carpet brush and tornador and there is nothing I can't handle.

Ramen and tap water for a month = steamer

If you are fat like me... go on a diet and you will get your steamer in no time.
Its good for your health and good for your detailing.

Just a few more weeks and I get my pressure washer! WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!~~ :hungry:

When I do eat Ramen noodles (the instant kind) the real ones are no comparison btw.

I put hot sauce and add extra soy sauce lol (rarely do this btw) someone should start a how to cook forum so I can chime in (don't want to start another one haha)

(Sorry for going off topic, just love AGO and it's members)

For spotting if you don't have a steamer you can use an iron. Pretreat the spot, lay down a terry cloth towel, then place the iron on the spot for no more than 45 seconds at a time. Utilize the irons steam setting/ button. Then blot the stain out while continuing to flip the terry towel to a clean side. Repeat as needed.

For larger areas, get a brush carpet attachment for your DA. Pre-treat then scrub. Works really well.
