Non Shedding, Lint Fee detail towels? DISAPPOINTED!

I also have a load of mft from various vendors (70/30 Korean Blend),
and never had a lint problem on dark cars. The last time I heard of this
was the green ones, sometime back.
 
Welcome to the forum and you will get many opinions that will hopefully help you in what you need to do. All I can say that a quality Micro fiber towel is SUPERIOR to any terry cloth towel with the exception from Zaino Bro's.

I think you picked the wrong type.
 
sometimes all microfiber towels will lint (depends the batch sometimes), i've had some 'boutique' brands still do it that cost a premium. i wash all mine first before use. IME usually the more thicker the towel, the more chances it will lint...

I know what you mean about MF towels leaving behind lint on beautiful black paint. I have two jet black BMW's and the linting was driving me up the wall as well.

As others have mentioned it is vital to pre wash brand new mf towels using a quality detergent designed for mf towel use. I use the Wolfgang version. Anyhow, what I have found after washing them sometimes they will leave lint behind.

After getting them from the dryer, place them on top of the machine and iron out the towel using a lint roller to pick up any loose fibers. This will really cut down on the amount of lint left behind. Often times eliminating it altogether.

If you want a plush non linting towel from AG, the arctic white one is absolutely amazing.

I know we have all been recently introduced to the newer style edgeless plush and soft towels (like the blue and orange 470gsm towels offered on bulk websites), but I still think this one is better for most all paint conditions. Reason being is that those towels will lint a bit with grabby liquid products (but are excellent at removing anything non-liquid). These white ones will not. ever... in my experience. I have many of them in both 16x16 and 16x24.

some towels just lint by nature, and no process of cleaning , drying or specific chemicals will fix this. If you have towels that are truly non linting, then wash them by themselves. Do not mix them with other linting towels.

I have an absolutely foolproof way of testing if a towel is a linting one by nature. Its simple. I use Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer on a dry surface with said towel. the product is VERY grabby, and if your towel is going to ever lint, this product will expose it.

Always use the blue plastic ones with detailing towels of any kind. Even though the Merino balls are very, very dense boiled (felted) wool, there is a better than good chance they lint and will add stray wool fibers to your MF polishing and buffing towels.

I use the Merino balls with regular laundry, they work extremely well.
 
Can someone tell me more about these dryer balls you're speaking of, without getting in trouble here, of course
 
Hehe no worries about trouble, they're not sold on AG.

Look up Whitmor dryer balls on Amazon. A set of four is fine for normal loads of microfiber towels. While you're there, consider a set of Smart Sheep merino dryer balls for your other loads.
