Noob - Doubts on Waxing Car

I'm a noob too. I use Collinite 845 as well. It's a hybrid so it also has carnuba in it. It will not stain black trim. I use it on dressed moldings and all exterior glass. It's great on glass! Just be sure to buff the glass again after you have removed the haze. Put Collinite on THIN. 1 - 1.5 ounce on a golf will be plenty.

Hmm I'm such a fan o Meguiars, but everybody is giving so much recommendations to Collinite that I think I'll try. Is it synthetic? How long does it last, more or less? =)

Colinite gets good reviews. I've never used it so I can't comment on it's durability. Since you are a fan of Meguiar's look into their paint protect 365 product. This product is about long term protection.

One last question: should I wax my wheel? Can I do it with a normal wax? Because I've seen on the internet some waxes specially made for wheel (that's what they were saying at least...)

You can use the Collonite for the paint & the wheels. It is an affordable, quality sealant. It will last longer than the other products you mentioned. It will also give you a good shine.

You don't want to wax your wheels with regular paste wax - for the simple reason you will contaminate the tub of wax with brake and rotor particles regardless how clean you thing you got the wheel. The solvents in the wax will "clean" off more embedded dirt than any soap will. This dirt will go from your applicator to your wax jar.

Therefore, when you use that tin of wax to wax your paint, you will be rubbing some quantity of rotor iron and brake pad dust into your paint - which is not good.

Use a coating or a spray and rinse sealant.

I just used 845 last night on my summer wheels and this weekend on the paint in 40 degree weather.
I use it on my sisters silver Subaru paint and plastic cladding when I do her car.

If I had to pick one wax/sealant I would pick 845.
