Hi all.

I bought a new car back in December and I figured I should finally learn how to properly care for this one. I've always done my best to keep cars clean, but it never went beyond washing, drying, and occasionally waxing. I started digging around here a few weeks ago reading up on different processes, tools, materials, etc. and seem to have lost myself in the rabbit hole. Hoping to learn quickly and keep the new toy looking pristine.

For anyone else in MI, I'm up in Clarkston.

Hello Scooby921 and welcome. There are a few folks from MI that just joined and were in a similar position as you. The journey at first can be daunting and you will receive a lot of great advice from some pretty good experts on this forum. My initial advice is to keep it simple as it will have a tendency to mushroom on you.

Welcome, from Richmond mi.
Now is the best time to start taking care of your new ride. There is nothing better than a compliment on how nice your ride looks,
Cars are so expensive. Doing it now ( protecting it) will only pay dividends later. Enjoy. This is a great forum with a many lines of great products!

Welcome Scooby921! I was the same way about 5 years ago and got hooked after visiting Autogeek. It's one the best things that has happened to me.

Thanks all for the welcome!

I've been to Richmond once! A friend got married there several years ago.

Welcome neighbor! Lake Orion here. I'm LOVING the Michigan presence on the forum!!

Rochester Hills / Shelby Twp here!

Welcome!

Thanks again for more welcomes! So friendly.

And a big uuuuuuuggggggggggghhhh...got home all excited that my new detailing products would be on the front porch. Nope! Just a notice that I have to sign for them. Time to wait another day to play with new toys.

Ugh!!!!
I also am expecting a delivery of some supplies but I know already I that I have to sign for them, so no disappointing surprises for me.

Brighton here.
I too am new to detailing the right way. Still trying to sort things out, but everyone here is so helpful. I'm exciting for the weekend. I'll be hooking up the hose and pulling the cars out! Hopefully it's nice out.

Hearing all the Michigan city roll calls is throwing me back down memory lane. I have a good friend who lives in Midland, another good friend who used to live in Rochester (if my memory is right, there is a bar there that was one of the first non smoking bars back in the 90's) before moving to California a few years ago, bumped into a few folks from Clarkston back in the old college days and in the 4th grade my neighbor friend moved to Brighton.

Oh - forgot about Lake Orion, my college roommate was from Lake Orion.
