Hi Folks,

I appreciate that most of you are big time detailers or self-detailers. I just bought a new car and just want to keep it looking good for a long time with minimal time investment. Easy care with good protection is what I am looking for. I want to keep the new paint looking new and protect it as much as possible without the 5 steps processes. Wash and then an application of something is where I want to stop for the exterior care.

I live in St. Louis: hot summers, snow, salt, sand winters, and lots of windy and rainy days.

I am looking for a regiment where I can get good protection on my car infrequently and then use detailing spray after washes to keep it looking good.

During the Spring, Summer, early fall I don't mind waxing once a month, but I do like what I hear about products that can protect for 3 months or longer at a time. During the winter when conditions are at the worst I may have to go without waxing for several months or more, but do plan to wash weekly (haven't figured out how yet as the hoses are put up during the winter. May have to go to a car wash (don't want to) .

I have read about the Waxes, Acrylics, and Polymers. Not to mention the all in one products like Klasse. My goal is to wash weekly, followed by a detail spray, and wax/seal quarterly if possible.

What would your recommendations be? Do I need a different regiment for the warm and cold months. I am pretty confused, I would really appreciate your help with this.

Thanks!

Steve

you'll likely want an AIO (like Klasse, XMT360) at the very least. Add in the Klasse Sealant and you will see 4-6 months of protection. Using a detailing spray for pop after each wax is a nice idea and will keep them looking fresh.

Klasse AIO -- Klasse Sealant -- Four Star Spray Wax (nice combo)

i would add optimum gloss enhancer in there also. my 2 cents. i would also recommend duragloss 501 and 105 or 101 as far as sealents go all have great durability and very good looks.

Amy, are you saying use duragloss instead of the AIO/360? or before or after?

Thanks for the clarification!

I would try the Zymol Titanium wax. They say it is designed for SUV's but that doesn't matter, it can be used on most cars. The wax is good for protection in harsher environments.
