Hello everyone,

Did these for a friend the other day! I used M105 on a yellow lake country pad, then used M205 on an orange pad. Didn't need to breakout the sandpaper or anything. I used Liquid Glass on the headlights when I was done. Hope you enjoy the before and afters.

Thanks,

Looks great man! Dont mean to be picky nut maybe there is a little bit of haze remaining on the lights? I could be wrong. But they look great!

No Haze on the outside...they were totally smooth. Any left over looks to be on the inside. I didn't feeling like removing his lenses and all to get to the inside. He was happy with the results though. It was also overcast outside...

looks good for not sanding it prior to buffing it. I bet he was happy, it looks a lot better than the before pictures.

were the results pretty much like the pics before using the liquid glass?

Looks great, I never tried using 105 and 205 on headlights. Only used Plastx which did an alright job. Going try it next time, only problem I don't have any yellow pads.

It should work, Ultimate compound is just less abrasive then M105. You have have to put more pressure or do couple more passes.

In my experiences, headlights are pretty easy to correct. MUC would get you good results.

I've had no luck. Been using the turtle wax kit on a 2002 330i and my lens still look pretty bad. I'm going to bed now but will snap a pic tomorrow.

I would say so. The liquid glass didn't leave behind any leftover haze that I could see. I know there was a bit of haze on the inside of the lens. Too much of a pain to to go in there and fix it.

What size pads did you use? You got great results

Thank you! I used 4" pads from Lake Country. Switched the backing plate on my Griots to the 3.5" and threw on the 4" inch pads and went to town!

Thanks! I will admit, I did about 3 applications of M105 until I was happy with the results.

Man They LOOK AWESOME!!! I've been through the Mother's Kit, Turtle wax Kit, with shabby results, NOT PLEASED @ ALL... I will be sure to remember this technique next time... What speed where you buffing @?

Thanks Man. I put my Griots on 5 and actually bumped it up to 6 on some tougher spots. Remember to use a yellow cutting pad and M105. The cut of the pad and that compound can't be beat. It took a couple of applications, but I think it came out really well. I know Mike Phillips will say that polishing is not a grinding process....but for this it was. Remember to follow the M105 with M205 on a orange pad. Then Plast X then a good sealant. That was my process.....hope it works for you and good luck! :xyxthumbs:

Just reread this thread and was wondering if you used any sort of UV sealer like me. I use a 50/50 mix of spar urethane and mineral spirits, like the headlight sealand thread on this site says. It works great for me, maybe you could give it a try if you haven't already.
