I'm excited to get out of Dodge for a minute and hang with a bunch of great guys for a day. It really brought back a lot of memories gearing my van back up as a mobile rig. I might make a few calls and secure a few mobile jobs next week now that I have her all geared up again.

I might throw the PW in there, worst case scenario is that we'll not use it, right?

No worries Dave. You don't have to bring the Gas PW unless you want to. We have enough water supply here and we all have electrics if anyone wants to lug out the hose and buckets.

I'm excited for this weekend too. The meets keep getting bigger and bigger!

I finished washing 3 loads of multi-purpose towels last night...could you say "detailer problems"?

Looks like a few of us have made the decision to just all chip in and order pizza for food. IMO, it's less time consuming and we could have everyone working on the vehicles instead of having Grillmaster Lee cooking for us (sucks we will be missing out on the Kalbi ribs though).
 
I may have to sneak up there in the morning but I have plans to take the kids to JET wars at Maryland international raceway there's a car eating contraption and fireworks so they're pretty excited about it. I missed the last get together and I just found out last Friday that I will be replacing another guy last minute to deploy to Afghanistan next month sooo it will be a while before I get to detail another car! I'm down for the pizza bit and I can bring the dupray steamer again if you all want.

Jeremy, nice to hear from you my friend. If you want to stop by, that would be great. You don't have to bring anything if you don't want to but the Dupray is definitely a beast.

Unfortunate to hear about the replacement for deployment but let us know how it goes brother. :xyxthumbs:

is this a noob friendly event?

I've literally never detailed a car before in my life, but got a Camaro in March and its more than past time for me to start getting into it. I've been hinging on going all in and buying an Adam's Ultimate kit and just diving right in and learning.....Might not be a bad idea to attend something like this and get some tips and kinda watch and learn a bit.

Noob friendly? We welcome anyone who wants to join. With this gathering you will have a chance to try many popular products and tools and base your decision from what you learn. Though I know "Adam's" is very popular among the Camaro forums, I'd find other alternatives that will help you save some money. Don't just dive in and make big purchases yet.

Same here. Coolest dudes & learnt a lot. First time for everything! I'm not a virgin anymore with the DA :D ...actually several DAs. My favorite in the end was the HF DA....followed by the Rupes 21 & the GG6.
 
The HF DA blew me away for the price and how much more powerful it felt over my G110.
 
after skimming this thread i may have to attempt to set one of these up in michigan. hope you all had a good time

I had a great time yesterday!! I picked Colt up last night and Grammy said that he was the perfect dog all day long, and she'd be willing to take him for the entire day anytime! That opens the door for more involvement on my end!!

It was really nice meeting the guys I hadn't met yet and really cool to see the guys I met the last time I was down.

I'm glad we got to stick to the "doing it mobile" theme. I got the opportunity to share a lot about being mobile and how to get around certain pitfalls you'll encounter out in the field working in the hot sun.

I got to flex my brain muscles a little while getting a bit of a physical workout too. I am totally open to having you guys come up to my shop for one of these detailing get togethers, and anyone local to me would be welcome to attend as well.

In my own setting with my own tools, I'm certain I could show you guys some techniques and processes to greatly improve your efficiency in the pre-compounding/polishing prep efforts.

Anyway...when that time comes, I'll definitely post a thread about it with enough lead time where some more folks could jump on the attendance list if they'd so wish to.

A great big thanks to Jake and the rest of you guys who worked to put these events together. Well worth a few hours drive to attend!!

Yeah man...second time actually!! That'd really be cool if you could make the next one. I'd love to meet you in person!!

These guys were kicking the September 14th date around for the next one. I told them that's 2 days after my birthday and then they started about bring a cake to the event...lol...

I'm going to take a look at things scheduling wise and see if I can make it again on the 14th.
