Good luck today guys - hope the weather holds out for you all... gotta get up there again soon

The awesome prize arrived today from guessing the closest make model and year giveaway last week.

Car pro Reflect
DP max wax.

So finally I have some product to share with you guys or at least try out incase you haven't tried it yet.

Ok NoVA friends, need some guidance. My dad has a red Saab 9-5 that has severe rock chips on the hood and front of car. Someone must of used some kind of filler because when he bought it it didn't look that bad. 2 years of washing and occasional waxing and they are back.

He has asked me if there was a product that he could use to fill in the chips and blend again. He is retired with minimal income and i've heard of numerous post's speaking of fillers reducing the visible annoyance of chips and scratches. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also he lives in Shippensburg PA and the car does not get any kind of garage treatment.

appreciate any advice.

Matt's right, you can do touch up paint like Dr. Color Chip, but no glaze or anything like that will lessen the appearance to a satisfying degree.

I would suggest trying the Dr. Color Chip for ~ $60, but look around for prices on a respray first as if it's only the hood and front bumper it might not be much more.

Sweet! Congrats.

Beyond Dr Color Chip its time for a respray in my estimation.

Will have to agree here. A respray would be better in the long run then I would have it clearbra'd. The Dr.Colorchip or Langka kits are good but covering a huge and "severe" area like you state, you may have to get 2 kits. It is a lot of work rather than having a painter strip it down and lay several new coats.

Thank you for the advice. Was trying to find a cheap fix that would look decent for awhile. Thinking that's not going to be the case.

Hey guys. I missed the last two. I want to make it out to the next>

Hey guys. I missed the last two. I want to make it out to the next>

Working on a date and place.

It's always nice to meet new faces. We are going to be raffling away some products next time to attendees.

The training you receive from local pros is top notch. There will be plenty of time for one on one sessions.

I've received several texts throughout the month from members that have attended. They are now taking on full detail jobs. Makes me glad that I've hosted these events.

We always have a test vehicle and several panels to work on, so no one has to worry about any random person touching your car.

Anyone else that is interested in the next gathering, sound off! :buffing:

I'm in like fat boy slim.

Depending on date I may be able to host in Stone Ridge. Just lacking the critical supplies like mf towels pads pressure washer umm basically I have a garage power and water to offer lol. Oh. I do also have a radio! Lol

I'll be keeping my eye on this thread, however with the scheduled work I have now combined with the dump truck restoration coming in and the big aluminum truck returning soon for a re-shine, I probably won't be able to make the time.

I really want to come to another though. Keep up the good work guys!!

Thanks Ryan. It will be a BYOS (Bring Your Own Supplies) type of deal if we decide to change venue, no worries.

Just double check with HOA for any restrictions or parking adjustments. We had about 13 cars in the driveway at the August meet.

Looking forward to a good time as always fellas.

Dave, the birthday meet fell through but we will for sure setup a belated celebration if you decide to roll down again. Cheers and God bless my friend.

I would like to attend. I have no equipment yet, but would still like to see how it's done. I might even offer up my car for a little work. hehehe!

Hey ken it's a great time with a bunch of guys who are second to none!

Thanks shortcut11 I live in Chantilly, which is not far from you at all. It's getting that time of year where I need to clean up the paint as much as possible and get some extra coats of wax on. I would really like to learn the paint correction side of things.

:)

I hope to make the next one...between a busy work schedule and detail bookings here and there things been very busy.

Cool. I have a flex 3401, makita, and PC. I also have a mytee lite II WITH A SPYDER pump
