Ugh. Been there. I had an accident on June 4th in which I accidentally rear ended a Chevy Tahoe in stop and go traffic and wrecked my 2016 Honda Civic. Steering wheel airbag deployed. More damage to my car I think than his, as my front end went under his trailer hitch. Roughly $8800 in damages, so State Farm decided to total it out. I was the one who called 911, so I just let the cops and EMTs deal with both myself and the other driver (I think they were there within 2-3 minutes). 2016 Honda Civic EX-T with 60k and the insurance offered me just over $17,700. I put $15k down on a 2021 Civic Hatchback EX and I love it. June 14th was when I got my new car. I also have rental car and towing insurance, so that was a plus. Insurance was super easy to deal with and everything worked out great. As an added bonus, my insurance only went up about $4 a month (first claim with State Farm).
