Not much talk here about Zaino...what's up?

I have never seen any filling with any Zaino product I've used. I explicitly remember them stating it did not fill/remove swirls, which is the reason I started looking to other products.

Huh? Z-5 is specifically advertised to fill: "Z-5 PRO and its micro filling technology gradually reduce the appearance of these surface imperfections without using any abrasives." It's just that no one seems to have that experience with it.

If you read the forums back in 2002/2003, everyone that used it called BS on this Im the MAN

As am I, I'm just saying that Sal is the only one who has ever said it fills (and his website still does), no one who has used it (myself included) has ever noted any filling.

Sheesh I dunno even how we got on this, you're disagreeing with me while I'm agreeing with you.

Its ok, I just didn't know they pushed it as something that actually filled swirls haha

if YOU like zaino, then use it - who cares what anyone else thinks. some have speculated that it's DG re-bottled/re-packaged and if that's the case, then that's fine with me cause i like DG products...

Well if its just "hiding" the swirls, maybe I should not apply anything else and wait what.....years for it all to wear away and then the car's paint will look the planet Saturn, LOL!

I know this, my paint was smooth during the winter when I wasn't able to layer anything, just washing with ONR and it was smooth, no grit to the touch of my fingers and ofcoarse, no swirls anywhere to be found. I just find it hard to believe there's a ton of swirls hiding under all of my coats but I'm willing to listen to any legit comments on this, this is why I'm also here, to learn!

Irregardless of the pending outcome of further discussion regarding: Swirls/no swirls; Layers/coats; etc.:

I must say...Congratulations!...is the 'order of the day' for you, Klasse Act...You have now been vindicated! (Seems to have been some "Zaino-talk" here.)

OP...Re: Not much talk here about Zaino...what's up?

Thanks Fun! I've gotta order some of their detail spray, the Z-8, its getting close to that time again. Because the Z-CS can have other products put ontop of it, well, I took full advantage of this lately with adding 2 coats in 2 days of Klasse SG and it just keeps looking good, this is the cheapest form of theropy on the market, I'm convinced of it...I practice it....and I love it!

BTW, I'm the OP too, LOL!

I still would like to know why the guy in that thread "products you wish you didn't buy" didn't like "Z", just curious. I know all products have plus' and minus' but I can't say I've seen the minus' since trying it last spring but like I said, I'm willing to listen to anyone who has an different opinion on "Z".

Zaino clay, leather conditioner and cleaner kick some ass. However, there are enough comparable performance products AG offers that keep my business here.

I use several Zaino products, including their sealers, QD, soap, clay, leather treatment, and towels. It's good stuff. If I find something that better meets my needs, I use that. For example, I'll be comparing Leather Master stuff with Zaino Z9/10 shortly. If the LM stuff is better, I'll switch.

Z5 Pro does have some very minor filling advantages. I find that it fills small rock chips so they aren't quite as noticiable on my medium-dark gray Audi. Other products accentuate the rock chips and make them stand out. That's about the only "filling" advantage of Zaino that I know of. (And that's not much.)

With the exception of rock chips, I never depend on Z5 to hide imperfections. My PC and Flex 3401 are used to deal with paint issues. Prep is everything. Sealing is just that - the last step AFTER you'd done the hard work.

Sal and everyone else in this industry uses over the top hyperbole. According to the manufacturer or vendor, EVERY sealant and wax gives you an "awesome, deep, wet, shine that lasts FOREVER!" The only opinion that counts for me is in reviews by other users.

Frankly, I don't get why people get all hyper when Zaino is mentioned. They make some good products. Other companies make good products. Ignore the marketing BS, use what you want, and don't get your panties in a wad.

Dan.

p.s. I'm not interested in over-the-top fanboy comments about your favorite product. There are so many unsubstantiated "Product XYZ ROCKS!" comments that it gets truely boring. I don't accept marketing hype. If you want to get my attention, do a detailed A/B review and document the results. Otherwise, I'll bring out my "FANBOY!" stamp and (metaphorically) whop it on your forehead. And if you're really over the top, you'll get best forehead stamp:

I bought a full kit, was very happy with the results. There was VERY minor filling.... The gloss was more than I expected, but now I am looking for something different, though I probably lay down the Z5/Z2 combo and then Carnuba over it, then use the rest of the Z's on my girlfriends car after fixing al the paint defects, which could take me a couple weeks.

Megcab, I too am looking for something different and that something different is the Black Fire version of the Z-CS as well as their equivelant to Z5. I decided to take the plunge and try something different that our forum here sells.

Just curious though, how well does the caranuba hold up on Z-5? It seems the only Z product that you can put anything on top of is their Z-CS.

Its not that I don't like the Z products, I really, really do but I just wanna see if the Black Fire is as good as people here say it is, especially the 2 products that I bought, we'll see how it goes, thanks to AG for steering me in other directions as well as all of you here who've chimed in on Z, even though its against the rules and again, sorry, I didn't know about that particular rule.

I honestly don't know, I have only used Z since I put it on the truck. I will probably end up going with Opticoat and carnuba over that since my truck just can't seem to stay clean for more than a couple days during the spring time. But I am going to give the Dodo Juice over the top of Z a shot and see what happens. I'm gonna put in an order for a Flex and I think I am going to grab one of the Blackfire free samples and see how that works out. So I will be curious what you think of the Blackfire compared to Z.

^^ I started a Q/A thread about BF products, so I'm looking forward to the specifics about it and when I get and try it out, I'll post in there. Keep in mind that "Z" doesn't recommend putting anything other than their products ontop, so not sure how caranuba will do when applied ontop of anything other than the Z-CS.

Stay tuned!
