Not sure how to react to this article

LoL the majority of the people commenting dont have the slightest clue about automotive paint.

Pledge...im in the Army and some soldiers use it to polish their corafam dress shoes for their dress blues.
 
That's the customer base you don't want. Ignorance is bliss. Maybe that's what that site should be named.
 
The tip about using WD40 as a waterless was also helpful. Learned two things today.
 
Guys in the Harley forums swear by lemon pledge. Those guys led me here LOL
 
Articles like these really make my head hurt. It's so hard to click out of it without posting anything but i make myself do it.

Just make sure there is no silicone in anything you use because if a part needs to be painted it will fish eye and not look so great! But cool idea i use dawn dish soap for my car and rims like it say cuts the grease :-D
 
Using Pledge as a touch-up before selling a boat is a widely held secret.

It makes even a dirty, water-spotted boat look great for a few days.

Slippery as heck though.
 
I wouldn't think it would harm the paint but can you imangine how much buffing it would take to remove it?
Well that's when it would be harmful to the paint, all that buffing.
Not to mention it would be like a dust magnet.
Nah, I'll stick with my DP Quick Detailer and Rinse-Less Wash and Gloss and my Chemcial Guys P-40.

I'm sure there will try it though.
 
It comes down to people not being educated! This is why I educate all my customers on how to wash their cars the right way.
 
I'm of two minds about this sort of thing. Yes, I know that blog article is peddling uneducated car care tips, which is a bit annoying.

But then I remember... they paid for their own cars, just like I did. If they want to screw up their paint, then that's on them. No skin off my back.

You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make them drink. I firmly believe those who want to be educated about any subject will educate themselves eventually.

I wish I could be more incredulous, but I just can't find the heart to do so when I know that most of those people probably worked as hard for their cars as I did. I'm just a bit sad at their lack of care for something they worked and paid for.
 
Pledge or other similar furniture products have seen use by fleet companies to wash their trucks during drought conditions. I know I recall articles several years ago on this subject.
 
hey, here is another thought. With all the snow and ice on the way again for the almost entire east coast. maybe the Pledge would help the salt, ice and snow not to stick to car and or windows.
Maybe he has something there.....just thinking outside the box.
