ok I am new again to the feild, I detalied a little in a car dealer and body shop about 6 years ago useing a rotary. Intrested in my own cars right now, and maybe a side busness doing other firefighters locally on my days off. I already have the random orbital Dewalt 443 left over that works, so now I need to know polishes, sealer, and wax. I use Clay magic I can get it locally, MCG gold wash, MCG NXT wax, I can buy mcguires pro series locally but for a similar cost I would rather buy GOOD stuff. I have looked at so far:

For polishes, everyone seems to love the new XMT line. Works great in the sun and you get awesome results. The glaze is up there with Clearkote RMG and Meguiars #7. Sealants, the new DP sealant is getting great reviews on the looks and durability. Usually a unheard of combination. Waxes, DP Max Wax for a cheaper wax, and Pinnacle Souveran for the best looks (on darker cars). Cobra microfibers are awesome, I love the miracle towel, but a little pricey. Guzzlers are the best for drying your paint, and without any marring. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. PM anytime. nope Michigan a Local auto parts store has about 10 of their pro line products, and then their regular line also, I have a silver car, black bike (selling next summer hopefully) and wife has a black car. Would the NXT wax be pretty good with the XMT polishes? or their sealer? I really was suprised at the depth of the NXT wax for after just washing and claying..... dosent seem to last to long though..... What about DP I am kinda leaning that way....... unsure
 
+1 for the xmt line love the way it smells and the working time you get with it and the glaze is awsome


nxt waxes have cleaners in them, so if you put a glaze under them the wax will "clean" the glaze off of the car

If you are willing to spend the money, go for the better products. NXT is a good product, but there are better options out there. DP sealant for looks/durability would be my pick.

Top with a wax of choice and you are set. Oh, the store I know has like 50+ pro line Meg's products, but they are a little pricey.
 
I tried Optimum Polish last weekend for the first time. A co-worker bought it and let me try it out. It's a great polish. Seemingly indefinite working time, no dusting, finishes down to LSP ready with a white pad. I'll be ordering some soon.

I've read good things about XMT. Also, Poorboy's polishes work well, but dust a lot. Meg's 83, 82 and 80 have also worked well for me.
 
The Optimum line is great. I used the Hyper Compound and Polish.
 
I noticed that of the kits you listed there the DP one was the only one that included polishes. The Wolfgang and the Klasse kits are for finishes that are already swirl free. As much as I would love to see your car in the WG and Souveran kit, if you have swirls then you're going to need to deal with them so that kit may not be the best choice for you at this time.

The DP kit looks fantastic, it has the swirl removers and the pads and you have your LSP also.

I love the XMT line so you can't go wrong there either, although you would have to buy your wax. DP's Max Wax, Poorboy's Natty's Blue, or Pinnacle's Signature Series II or Liquid Souveran would all be good choices.

I think you will be happy with any of these kits and when your swirls are all gone you could then consider that WG/Souveran kit. ;) Good luck to you.
 
Ok great I am pretty much sold on the XMT complete kit: http://www.autogeek.net/pixmtliswrek.html now should I get the light kit? And if I needed to be more agressive just get a more agressive pad? or just also buy the #2 polish? Now on to WAX...... again..... Would I get a good finish/protection with McG Gold class? or do I just suck it up and use luqid sovern or Max Wax (i am pretty sure of the recomendation!) OR... Klass sealant??? How long is the durability of Luqid sovern? Michigan weather, snow salt ect I do have access at the FD to pull my car in during the winter to wash and wax ect every week. :D thanks

I would recommend the XMT kit to you and to anyone!
I have used all 4 of the products and love them and have achieved great results. I recommend picking up a carnauba wax to top the glaze with.
Max Wax for maximum reflection and ease of use.
Collinite No.845 for maximum and long term protection. Not a bad shine either.
