Nothing else says Subaru like Rally Blue & Gold... 2004 Subaru STi - Exterior Enhancement

Great job, reminds me of my detail job on my car :xyxthumbs:
Did he say if it had been polished before? I am curious as to why the thinner clear coat...

Thin overall paint not thin clear coat. On ferrous and non ferrous metals, you can only get a reading on all layers. This reading helps you asses the situation.

Great job as always Zach, love the WRB

How was the front bumper? So much going on with the stis
Thanks! I tackled the front bumper with 3" pads... they make it much easier to maneuver.

My favorite collooooorrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
:dblthumb2:

Awesome job like always:) love the ride.
Thanks for reading!

Good job on this well done STi.

Gorgeous car. You made that car look amazing! I bet the owner was ecstatic!!
He was very pleased! Thanks for reading.

awesome work as usual!
Thanks Kevin!

That Subaru looks beautiful now Zach! Nicely done!

Love everything about it!
Thanks bud! It was definitely done right! Tasteful mods all around.

beautiful work on a beautiful car! I had those same wheels, but in silver, then white on my WRB wrx wagon.
They're a perfect fit for the subaru style!

Great work.. Do you remember what the paint thickness was on avg?
This car had been repainted in several areas, but overall average was in the 90-100 micron range.

Awesome job Zach, that blue really pops!
Thanks!

Great work and an absolutely fantastic write up as always!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

Great looking work:dblthumb2:

I did my Son's 2004 WRX in 2005 and the World Rally Blue looks soooooooooooooo good when done.
Agreed! An awesome color!

Very nice Zach. I have a 2013 Sti in WRB to do next month. Probably my favorite blue paint.
Very nice! Look forward to seeing some pics.

He has not had it for too long, but the car has clearly been worked on... several panels had been repainted, so who knows the real history.

Looks awesome! Excellent work
Thank you!

Love it! Good job.
Im the MAN

Looks awesome, I too love the classic Subaru look of blue paint and gold wheels.

I've got a new crosstek coming in as soon as e weather allows for a one step and PBL coating. I was planning on starting with 205 and a white pad, good to know it gave you such great results with the orange pad.

Thanks! Orange pad was perfectly fine (I was working at speed 4ish)!

Nice job! :xyxthumbs:
Thank you!

This is true... the readings I mentioned were the thickness of the entire paint film (primer, base, and clear) however it is typically an accurate assumption that if the overall reading is low that means there is less clear to work with than if the reading was a bit higher... again, that is an assumption and not always[/] true.

Those RPF1s, nice stuff.

Good job! Love me a Subaru. Heavily modded that is.

That looks great! :props:

You're very skilled, and I've always enjoy your work. This place is full of talented folks, and you are definitely one of them.

How do you like the Rupes Mini? I'm looking for a second polisher to go with my flex that will do the smaller areas such as that STi's bumper. Is it worth the money?

Looks great! As much as I hate my 05' WRX I'm looking forward to the weather to clear up, so I can give it some much needed attention.

I don't mean to answer first, but I looked at my front bumper from my STi the other day and I definitely know the Rupes is worth the investment there.

Don't have to worry about buffing an edge you can just focus on one curve or section at a time.

Never mind all the other uses you get out of it

^I love the Mini Rupes. I had been using my PC7424XP for 3" work, but the Rupes is a dramatic improvement. It cuts MUCH faster, is MUCH smoother, and is just great to use. None of these free spinning DA machines will excel on curves, a rotary or flex will always be better here because they are direct drive machines, however the Rupes can still fare well once you figure out how to make it work in those types of situations.
