Well, I'm getting Nelly (my '07 Sonata with 110,000 miles) ready for another road trip. Nothing special, just felt like posting some pics.

A few weeks ago I pulled the wheels, gave the wells a shot of undercoating and Meg's Ultimate Protectant, cleaned and sealed the wheels and dressed the tires.

This past week I cleaned the engine with Meg's APC (6:1) and dressed with Stoner's. Dressed all of the rubber seal with 1Z Gummi Pflege, plastic parts with Meg's UP.

Even the wiper arms turned out pretty good - "black powdered metal" was dressed with Meg's UP.

Used Diamondite glas polishing system for the windscreen.

Not shown: shampoo cleaning of the seats, sheep skin covers, seat belts and floor mats.

In the back I dressed the trunk threshold with Meg's UP.

Dressed all seals and soft rubber with 1Z Gummi Pflege.

Polished the tail lights with Menzerna Final Polish and sealed.

Then, just to prove I'm obsessed, I polished the muffler using Meg's APC, Scotch Bright Scrubbing Pad and a Magic Erasor.

Still need another coat of sealant, a wax topper and clean the interior glass.

Thanks for looking.

Nice pics, my mom recently bought a Sonata like this.. been meaning to clean it up for her but have been so busy. Is that a stick?? 5 speed im assuming? More people should really drive manuals.

Thanks. Yup, it's a 5-speed manual.

Lovely !!

She looks brand spanking new !! Your pictures taking skills are great, they have come out very well !:xyxthumbs:

:cool pics:

I like the angled shots ......... good eye for photography.

looks awesome for over 100,000 miles
great job

Thanks! Now to fill in the small road rash spots between the nose and the B-pillar (and ONE on the roof!), then get a few dimples popped out.

GEWB

Nice job! I am in the Denver area too. I need to come by for some lessons. :D

No one, and I mean no one would ever guess that car had anywhere NEAR 110K on it.

Agreed, great photos of some less than popular detailing areas. You've really made something often overlooked, such as the trunk hydraulics and hoses, a real treat in these photos.

And thanks for making me feel better about having 90k miles on my 04 Sonata :xyxthumbs:

What part of town? I'm a mile west of I-25, 1/2 mile south of 104th.

I've seen several posts from members within 10 miles of here - we should do a spring cleaning party next April.

Thanks for your kind comments!

90k miles on your Sonata - it's just now broken in! Seriously, both of my Hyundais gave best performance and gas mileage AFTER 60k miles - just keep ahead of the maintenance schedule.

Thanks for you nice comment!

I figure it this way: a car cost a lot of money (well, it wasn't THAT much but you know what I mean), I spent / spend a LOT of hours behind the wheel, and when it's time to trade I hope to maximize the $$ - so I might as well keep it in shape!

Dressing for the engine bay is Stoner Trim Shine (spray can).

Black plastic trim parts (cowl, stone guards, grill, etc.) have Meguiars Ultimate Protectant.

That looks really good...I need to through my car and detail the little things like you have done.

It looks great from an exterior perspective...but pop my hood and you won't be as impressed, lol.

Very nicely done.
