Would these pads be good to apply the Meguiar's 105/205 twins, or would the CCS pads be better with a pc?

Either or.

The Hydro-Tech pads are a last pad design and will work great with any compound, paint cleaner, cleaner/polish, pure polish, or cleaner/wax recommended for use by machine with foam pads.

I really liked the 6.5 Hydro-Tech Pads and am looking forward to these new 5.5" sizes.

Ok, so the new Hydro-Tech pads are not specific for use with water based products only, they can be used with any product, but are just more beneficial to water based products due to the new foam type?

From the manufacture,

Lake Country' s Hydro-Tech 5.5 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads are perfect for applying water-based polishes and compounds with your dual action polisher. European pre-polymer foam prolongs the working time so you have more time to create a flawless finish.

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5.5 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads are made of imported European pre-polymer foam. This long-wearing, high quality foam is less absorbent in order to keep the majority of polish on the pad's surface. You'll experience a longer working time with your water-based polishes and compounds, resulting in less product used to achieve the perfect finish.

Water-based polishes can soak into some foam pads like, well, water. That requires you to keep reapplying polish to the pad. With Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5.5 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads, water-based polishes work longer and you use less polish.

The idea being that the foam is less prone to absorbing water so you'll have more product on the surface being worked against the paint.

They'll still work great with other products, for example a cleaner/wax which because it's a wax shouldn't be water-based or water soluble.

I used the Tangerine Ultra Polishing Foam pad last week with Wolfgang XMT 360 on the front clip of my truck using the PC 7424XP and it worked great!

Mike, would you say that the Cyan pad is about the cut of a LC orange, and Tangerine is about a LC white, give or take?

I found the cyan to have a little less cut than the orange CCS pads. When I used the tangerine pads, there wasn't really much for it to do; other than shine up the paint with WG Finishing Glaze. It probably finished to about the equivilant of a gray CCS pad

agpatel,

I found that the Cyan pad was very close to the LC Orange but used less polish and seemed to work the polish longer before it started to dry (Wolfgang total swirl remover) I odd thing I noticed with the Hydro-techs is that the Cyan was softer in feel than the Tangerine pad. Also It was hard to tell the effects of the Tangerine pad because the WGTSR finishes so well but I did use it with the WGFG and was very pleased with my results.

I'm in the process of writing a review with pictures and it will be posted in product reviews soon. Hope this helps.
