Nurburgring opens to the public this Sunday....

Well Geekaroonies, seeing as I'm roughly 45 minutes or so from the famous Green Hell and the season opener is this Sunday the 9th, guess I better put the summer tires back on and get up their and provide some coverage huh?

Here is the official opening dates this year on when you can go and beat on the car around the "Ring".

Please do it. I wish I could. I'm not European but I love their vehicles.
 
Let us know how it goes... Not ready to throw the summers on the X5 yet... This is one thing I want to do before we leave...

I don't have a GoPro at the moment but plan to pick one up soon. Until then pictures will have to suffice.

I plan to get up there at opening time and get a lap or two in before the massive crowd shows up. Also may try and go again in the afternoon. This of course depends on how many people show up. It is supposed to be un-seasonally warm this weekend for Germany....

Will do. With this nice weather lately and me living on base im putting my summer tires back on. I don't want accelerated tire wear with this nice weather.

You better make it a life goal to go around the "Ring" before you go back stateside...

It is!! I drove it a few times when I was last stationed in Germany.
 
Ok photos will do! I need you to narrate the sound track. Want to hear that "tsu tsu tsu" of the blow off valve! :D

Enjoy the Ring and be carful. Five wrecks on my last lap last year.
 
Enjoy it while it lasts: it seems that H.I.G. Capital (Miami based) has bought the entire facility and who knows what their plans are...
