Got a few questions for the board.

I have been using the Meguiars Tech Wax paste and the NXT Car Wash and have gotten great results with these two products on my black Honda Civic.

However, it looks as if Meguiars is discounting the NXT car wash, so...here's my questions.

1) What other car wash product works as well as the NXT car wash? I'm also looking for something that doesn't have a strong smell, the NXT line to me smells good. Meguiars recommended I pick up the Ultimate Wash/Wax product, but I really don't like using a combined product like that.

2) What paste wax should I use. As far as I know Meguiars is not discontinuing the Paste Wax. So I can go ahead and continue to use my existing stock up.

3) As of right now I am using one company for both the wash and wax. Would it be alright to use the Tech Wax and another companies wash(assuming it mets my criteria)

4) I have a few water spots on my car. What will get rid of these? I'm assuming its from a stray sprinkler, since everytime I wash the car I make sure to dry it off. I guess I could try clay baring it.

Just wanted to get my facts right before I put in my order.
 
1) I like this one (128oz): Chemical Guys Bug Bugger Heavy Duty Shampoo 128 oz., bug remover
It's a shampoo that also removes bugs and tar. They also sell smaller sizes if you prefer.

2) There's a gazillion paste waxes on the market, I like Finish Kare 1000p followed by Meguiars #26 (both paste, applied by DA on a blue pad)
But sometimes I use Meguiars 21 before both waxes. It's a sealant so it gives insane durability.

3) Yes, you can mix and match. No problem.

Also, any wax, sealant and shampoo you get from Optimum and Poorboy's will do great. Two excellent companies.

BobbyG. I currently do not own a dual action polisher. I'm kinda afraid to use one, since its a honda which are not known to have very forgiving paint.

Its amazing once you own a black car, you kinda have to be informed about the "proper" way to detail a car.

First off, dont be scared to dive into the dual action polisher lifestyle. They are very safe and easy to use, and between all the articles here on the forum by members and Mike Phillips, and his how to DVD's, you can get excellent results.

I have NXT car wash myself. I have been using it for years and its done just fine for me. However, recently on a bogo, I bought some DP Auto Bath Shampoo. Its nice. Its super concentrated and has twice or three times the suds action of NXT, rinses cleanly off, and has a mild but pleasant banana scent.

As far as waxes go, Collinite 845 is a super durable wax that looks good (just needs to go on super duper thin). Almost nothing looks better than Souveran on black. Most people will argue that any carnauba based wax will give black a deeper wetter look than a synthetic wax like NXT.
 
The best car wash I've ever used is Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax. The paint on my black Mustang is so soft it scratches if you look at it too hard. Use a DA correctly and you will be fine.

DP Max Wax- Made with pure carnauba wax and advanced polymers.
This is not a cleaner wax like the NXT.
Yes you can follow any car wash with you NXT wax you have with great results.

I two would eurg you to get an RO buffer and not be afraid. The results will make you amazed!
