Heya there everyone. Been a LONNNNGGGG time since I've posted anything, but that's only because I've been SLAMMED with work. Trying to keep up. Anyway, on with the story.

To start, this is only a TASTE of what I'm going to post. There are literally over 100 pictures to this detail, but believe me when I tell you, they're ALL needed. For now, I'm just going to give you a taste of the detail by linking you to my O.C.Detailing Facebook page. Please feel free to "LIKE" it to keep on tap with my most recent projects.

I'm currently uploading all of the pictures to photobucket, but it's going to take a while. So here goes the process and a link for a quick view of just a couple of pictures of this BEAUTIFUL vehicle!

I was originally contacted to remove just a very heavy coating of primer overspray that covered every square inch of the truck while it was parked at the customer's workplace. Upon inspection...let's just say that the overspray was the LEAST of it's problems for a 2003 GMC Sierra Denali pick-up with over $70,000 invested in extras.

PROCESS:

- APC bath to remove all of the old wax/glaze from the paint.
- 2-bucket method wash using Super Suds car shampoo and micro-fiber cheneille wash mits.
- Clayed with Griot's Garage Mild Claybar. This only knocked off the very top of the overspray...
- Correction was done with Surbuf 5.5" and 4" pads and Meguiar's 105 Ultra-cut Compound
- Final polish was done using Lake Country 5.5" white polishing pads and Meguair's 205 as anything lighter didn't make the paint look any better.
- Every light on the entire truck was repaired and then sealed using various sandpapers and polishes and pads.
- Tires were dressed with a light swabbing of Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel
- Wheel Wells were scrubbed thoroughly then dressed with Meguair's Hyper-dressing diluted 4:1.
- Last Step Process was 2 coats of Menzerna Power-lock paint sealant.
- We did do a FULL interior cleaning on the vehicle, but the main focus was getting the paint as fixed as we could.

Check this link for a teaser. I'll post the real pictures once they're all uploaded:

The INFAMOUS test spot! Okay, maybe not in this instance, but it's a damn good way for me to figure out which process is going to fix this mess!

All taped off ready to be tested!

And compounded with M105 and 5.5" Surbuf on the Griot's ROP.

Whew! And THAT'S, how they say, is THAT! Sorry for the pic overload! Constructive comments and criticisms are ALWAYS welcome! ;) Thanks for making it to the end if you did.

Great turnaround. I got tired just looking at the pictures. I bet you were wiped when you finished it.

Where's the $70k in accessories? I know the few things on the outside didn't add up to that. Engine work? Complete custom everything inside? Just curious.

Again, beautiful job. I bet the owner was beside himself.

Colin

Full custom sueded/leather interior, 2000 watt stereo with DVD player and 6 LCDs, full exhaust and suspension and engine worked pretty good. Quadrasteer as well. This thing was HAWT! It was supposedly previously owned by the OWNER of GMC's son. They sold this truck for a fraction of what it's worth to my customer. Thanks for the kind words Colin.

Wiped doesn't describe what I am feeling right now. Between the heat, the massive amount of paint, and the stress of a broken machine, I feel like I'm in need of a loooonnnnnnngggggg nights rest. Thank you for the kind words though!

jeez, that thing was hammered and probably never polished in it's lifetime  . excellent job guys :dblthumb2: is there anything that 105, surbuf pads, and the DA can't correct LOL... :buffing: :D

Not so far Al. Been trying my damndest to find one though. lol Thanks for the awesome words of compliment!

Very nice job, what kind of time did all that work take? It looked like they washed it with 80 grit sand paper. I would have loved to see the owners look when he seen that for the first time. That truck should be used as an advertisement. Super work!

lol Thanks Buck. It took 2.5 days to finish, but that included fixing all of the lights, the interior and the full polish out.

His reaction was pretty under-whelming at first, but the more he looked at it, the more excited he got. At the end he practically SHOUTED "MAN, that thing looks GOOD, don't IT?". lol

Glad to hear he finally warmed up to it. A part of you dies inside when you spend so much time and effort to make someone else's car look flawless, and they don't show any appreciation or excitement.

You and Jonathan do great work. I really enjoy looking at y'alls work.

:D Yeah Colin, I was starting to get worried that he didn't really like it. I think he was trying VERY hard to find something wrong with it to be honest with you. Once he realized he probably paid me a LOT less than my work is worth, then he started pretty much hootin' and hollerin' how nice it looks. ;) Thanks so much. We both appreciate it.

Very Very nice turn around car looks great

Thanks Shane. I try to better myself with every vehicle that I touch. Lets hope the work keeps coming.

Thank you all! I have seen this truck twice since when we finished and both times I just drooooolll. A ton of paint, but man it is so worth it.
