Heya there everyone. Been a LONNNNGGGG time since I've posted anything, but that's only because I've been SLAMMED with work. Trying to keep up. Anyway, on with the story.
To start, this is only a TASTE of what I'm going to post. There are literally over 100 pictures to this detail, but believe me when I tell you, they're ALL needed. For now, I'm just going to give you a taste of the detail by linking you to my O.C.Detailing Facebook page. Please feel free to "LIKE" it to keep on tap with my most recent projects.
I'm currently uploading all of the pictures to photobucket, but it's going to take a while. So here goes the process and a link for a quick view of just a couple of pictures of this BEAUTIFUL vehicle!
I was originally contacted to remove just a very heavy coating of primer overspray that covered every square inch of the truck while it was parked at the customer's workplace. Upon inspection...let's just say that the overspray was the LEAST of it's problems for a 2003 GMC Sierra Denali pick-up with over $70,000 invested in extras.
PROCESS:
- APC bath to remove all of the old wax/glaze from the paint.
- 2-bucket method wash using Super Suds car shampoo and micro-fiber cheneille wash mits.
- Clayed with Griot's Garage Mild Claybar. This only knocked off the very top of the overspray...
- Correction was done with Surbuf 5.5" and 4" pads and Meguiar's 105 Ultra-cut Compound
- Final polish was done using Lake Country 5.5" white polishing pads and Meguair's 205 as anything lighter didn't make the paint look any better.
- Every light on the entire truck was repaired and then sealed using various sandpapers and polishes and pads.
- Tires were dressed with a light swabbing of Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel
- Wheel Wells were scrubbed thoroughly then dressed with Meguair's Hyper-dressing diluted 4:1.
- Last Step Process was 2 coats of Menzerna Power-lock paint sealant.
- We did do a FULL interior cleaning on the vehicle, but the main focus was getting the paint as fixed as we could.
Check this link for a teaser. I'll post the real pictures once they're all uploaded:
