OC 2.0 is dead. Remember the good times. I'll miss the syringe that always wanted to squirt OC all over the floor and the vague smell or turpentine. It is truly a tragedy when someone so young is taken from us so unexpectedly, it is doubly heart-wrenching in circumstances such as these...

I don't think I'll ever get over him. But if anyone wants to try and help me, you can PM me and send me some Opti Gloss Coat on your dime.

I put together these 2 hacky videos to pay my respects.

Dirty wheels coated with OC pressure washed (no soap):

1 yr old OC 2.0 beading. No waxes of any type are on this paint:

Swan, cool vids but I wished you had sprayed some tire cleaner on the tire first and cleaned 2 things at once, multi-tasking at its very best, LOL!

I certainly don't have a dog in the race here at all and I'm sure OC 2.0 is a great product, especially with how quickly these threads have gone up in the past 48 hrs. There is some true passion being posted here, no doubt about it!

Tires are Tuff Shined. I cleaned them with soap & a brush when I agitated the wheel. I'm not saying OC makes your wheels touchlessly cleanable - just that it makes cleaning them much easier.

Good form Swanic, I say, good form!

I'm staring at $49.99 per mL.

mine is new in box with applicator and free MF yellow black edge towell

Why should I buy from you, swanic, when HD is selling his for $10/ml?

Besides, you can still get it on eBay for $80 a syringe.

Anyway, who else is going to fess up to hoarding some? :surrender:

Because I throw in my autograph for free. Absolutely no charge. No personalized messages please.

Okay, I'm sure I'm late on the uptake here but other than the price increase, what's so unfavorable about the Opti Gloss that so many people will miss about the 2.0.? Will it not be as good? And if it's not as good what product is just as good as 2.0?

The durability of the Gloss-Coat will not be as good. Depending on if you are an OPT advocate, the answer to what is "just as good" is nothing, except Opti-Coat Pro, or tons of other things.

From some of the beta-test rumblings I have been hearing, Gloss-Coat's durability shortcomings may be offset by its appearance, slickness, and ease of use. And since we are always topping, spray waxing, etc., and ultimately repolishing, maybe the durability isn't really an issue.

OC 2.0 is "permanent" vs. Gloss-Coat being "semi-permanent". Parse that as you will. I love OC 2.0 for wheels, and in that application, I really want something that is permanent.

Time will tell (and I probably have enough 2.0 now till the end of time, on top of my lifetime supply of other LSP's).

It seems that with all the buzz going on about people not being happy with the change Optimum will have to review their decision to discontinue 2.0.. I think they'll come back out with it and name it something else and use that as a way of charging more money. That's how they get you.

That's not the impression I'm getting. I think it's going to turn out that Gloss-Coat will be a better match for the enthusiast market (except for WHEELS! ha ), and the "permanent" products a better match for the guy who gets his car taken care of by someone else or not at all.

So what's the permanent product now that 2.0 is gone?
