OCP vs 4 layers of Gloss-Coat

What applicator do you use?

I use the CarPro Black + MF Suede Towels. I find the block gives a nice firmer feel. You could do a MF Suede + Yellow app for more give in some curves.

that's how i felt when i used it. it's definitely more like Opti-Seal in that regard than 2.0 or OCP.

the yellow applicator can be managed but it's hard to keep track of the fact that it actually retains so much product. i agree that it can be easier to manage that aspect and thus, waste less, if you are using a less absorbent applicator like the neoprene one. OPT also has a kit now with a pointed applicator that firmly sandwiches tiny micro suedes towels.

some people even use various styles of makeup applicators and cut them up for more precise application.

Optimum is now including their new, soft blue foam applicators with gloss-coat. These applicators absorb less product and the soft construction makes it a lot easier to use (than the yellow ones).

After using the DP Paint Coating, I noticed that when I put the second coat on that my applicator was building a white powder film on it and I realized that the coating was not letting the other layer bond to itself. I didn't consider it a total waste because I was making sure that any possible "missed" spots were hit. When I went to do my wife's minivan I just made sure that on my on and only coat that I was thorough and careful making multiple passes with a little more than recommended sprays. Worked just as well. So as far as the DP goes, multi coats is futile unless your doing touch ups like where nicks and scrapes would naturally occur from driving. Just a thought on layering.
