The car was not hot so it probably happened because I used too much product. The question is will optimum quick detail gloss enhancer correct this or do I need to wash.

Hot and too much product definitely will streak with OCW. I usually put a light spritz of QD over the whole panel before spraying OCW on the panel. Helps it spread around more evenly and prevents premature drying. ONR at QD dilution gets the streaks out for me.

•One of the main reasons that OCW can become a
patented Wax-emulsion with certain and particular
characteristics, is that it contains "neutralized" surfactants.

-Since many detail sprays, themselves contain surfactants...
using one to reduce/remove streaking, (from possible
overuse of OCW), may prove to be an exercise in removal
of a certain amount of OCW along with its particular protectants, IMO.

-OCW is water-based, and can be applied to a wetted vehicle
while drying said vehicle.

•With the above in mind...
(and before I would go the QD route):

-I would first just spritz some distilled water upon the
areas that have the streaks, and gently buff-to-dry,

-Re-washing the vehicle would
definitely be my last resort.

IMO try the following QD or Spray waxes and you will not have any streaking issues. I too went through what you are going through and was tired of streaking. I actually will do a "hot panel" test to see if the product will streak or not. If it does I will not use them any more.

I know you are not supposed to put product on a warm or hot panel, however, my ride is Black too. In some cases you have no choice but to spray on a hot panel (bird bomb emergency in the parking lot). But most of the time I will spray on a cooler panel in the garage or shade.

Try these and IMO you will not have any issues from one Black color car owner to another:

Blackfire Carnauba Spray Wax or their Midnight Sun Polymer Spray

Duragloss Aquawax and Menzerna Paint Refresh Detail Spray.

These are the few that do not have any warm panel streaking issues. I hope this will help solve your streaking issues. Additionally, there are probably quite a bit more with no streaking issues but either I have not tested them or I will not bash (the ones I have tested) them as your test results could be completely different from mine.

Thanks for your help everyone. I used ONR detail strength. It is working, but I keep finding new streaks. Very frustrating. I hate black cars! I will definitely use very little OCW next time I use it.

I used to love OCW because of the ease of use, durability & looks. That changed a few years back when they "updated" the formula. Since that change, I've always had issues with it streaking. I cut my losses and now just use DG AquaWax as my spray was/sealant of choice.

Just decided to to try a slight variation of Bobs suggestion.

I sprayed OCW on my hot hood while sitting in the sun. Spread it, flipped and buffed and of course it streaked. Then lightly misted my buffing towel with water, buffed and it turned out great. Then tried the same thing on my dark blue Ranger and got the same great results. It was also hot and in the sun.

I also tried out my sample of Pinnacle Liquid Souverän Spray Wax on the hot hood sitting in the sun and had no streaking at all. Sprayed, spread, and without a buff. It just seamed to disappear into the paint. Applied it again even heavier and had the same great results.

Why is that some people seem to glaze over Bob's posts and not heed his advice. He may have a different style of answering questions, but always gives the best advice. I been meaning to create a "Bob's List" in the notes section of my phone for all of the all of the quality products he recommends which are also cost effective.

Love OCW and spray waxes in general. I've found even in a climate controlled environment (a/c) around 73 degrees with about 35% humidity I can make OCW streak by simply using to much product. I've found that spraying on a folded microfiber, applying to the panel, then chasing with a dry microfiber I can't overload to cause any streaking. It applies the product thin and evenly.

With the Pinnacle spray wax (posted above) I have gotten a slight amount of streaking outside on a warm day... again me using to much product. I've adjusted the amount of product and streaking was a non issue. I love everything about the Pinnacle except it's higher price.

With Meguiars x-press spray wax D156 (megs quick wax) it simply won't/can't streak because there is zero carnauba wax in it's formula. It's faster to apply than the two others because you're not worried about streaking whatsoever. I use the OCW or the Pinnacle on the exterior and the D-156 in the jamb area on the weatherstripping and all the plastics... bang bang you're done!

Of the three the Pinnacle feels the slickest on the finish followed by OCW then D-156.
