Official Invitation to MIKE PHILLIPS! - Accepted!

Yes it is, we are polishing the car right now, about to put the finishing touches to it and call it a night.

I made a post about what the rest of the car was going to be like but can't remember which thread I put it in so I thought I'd throw it in here. I also tried to get Derek0609 to re-read the amazing story behind this car but can't find his post either, not sure what happened there. I wanna know how this car is going to be finished with interior, brakes, rearend and tires/wheels. I also wanted to know was it going to be a true DD during the 3 seasons of driving in the midwest...........for real? There's so many amazing things behind this car that I hope we all get to hear all about it, can't say enough about this, the entire story just blew me away and I'm sorry to hear that its ending now. Its not everyday that you get to hear about a story like this, thanks to the guys at AG for bringing this story to us, I knew it was going to be something out of this world and it was!

Ok we are hungry, going to go eat and come back to finish the polishing.

I guess all I can say is I wish I had a car DAD that would do the same for me(or just a DAD).So hats off to his family.I hope and pray that one day my 6 year old son will learn to love the auto. as I have from a very early age. God bless you guys on a great job and have a safe trip home.TIM.

Looking forward to hearing about what all is going into this car, I'm sure its going to be top notch parts and well thought out for sure, not surprising as epic as this story is you wouldn't expect anything less. As the days go by the story becomes even more and more epic when you think about it. In the 12 years I've been on car forum I've never heard of such a story and then when we finally heard about it, it lived up to all the billing and then some! I was thinking that with the connections AG has with My Classic Car that they should think about doing an entire segment on this build and because the story is so epic, it would be even that much better and would need atleast a half an hour but an hour segment would be even more fitting, can't get all the details down in a half an hour, its a story that really needs to be told to everyone else out there who's not on the forum, so maybe that's something we can all hope for and keep it going.

Derek0609, I hope you read this and realize how lucky we were to get an inside look at such an epic story, these things don't come along everyday, more like once in a lifetime.

***Update***

Yancy and I are heading to the airport for our return flights home.

I can't even begin to share what an awesome experience this has been not to mention how much fun we've had.

The work was hard but rewarding and the friendships we forged will last a lifetime.

Doc took us all out to dinner last night to Texas Road House and fed us real good, see a picture below of Yancy and part of the gang and of the 23 ounce T-bone steak I wolfed down.

We were up T 5:00am this morning and back at the shop by 7:00am to finish up the last of the polishing. Paul aka Sailfish and Ben aka Wors joined us along with Ben Vaneperen and of course Wes.

We took some good pictures of the finished work that we'll post tomorrow.

This is one of the best detail projects I've ever been blessed to be a part of and I know this isn't the last time ill see Wes's and his family again as we'll as Ben #1 and Ben #2

We had an absolute blast and were dog tired but we wouldn't trade this experience for anything else in the world.

I can't wait to see the finished video Yancy creates. And Bruno if your reading this, thanks for powering through your cold and being a part of this project.

:)

I don't see the pic of the steak but I'm sure you mean't to put it on here and its just we need, a picture of a great steak to go along with the epic story. Speaking of the epic story, I think this story needs a name and maybe it will come when and if the people involved sit down and post the entire story when the pictures come up with the finished car. IMO this is going to take someone with some serious writing skills because anything less wouldn't really capture what actually happened here, the before story which is really a thing of legend, so I hope a good story writer does the writing to go along with the pictures. So I guess the search is on for someone with enough epic writing skills to go along with en even more epic story, you just don't hear about things like this and it deserves the best AG and its fan base have to offer in the area of writing skills.
