Oil Change: Men Vs Women

I changed my truck's oil today...had purchased the wrong filter...but had a second one that was the correct one....

1.Daughter takes Mazda 6 to Jiffy lube.(Can't wait for dad to do it on a weekend)
2.Jiffy lube cracks bakelite (plastic ) filter cap.
3.Daughter returns home and finds oil leaking from car.
4.Brings over to dads house to find leak.
5.Dad goes to Mazda and buys new filter cap.
6.Now motor has strange knock in motor.
7.Visit Jiffy lube and show them broken cap and they listen to knock in motor.
8.Jiffy lube insurance calls daughter and ends up paying for new motor.
9.Lesson learned and dad is back to changing oil in daughter's car:cruisin:

LMAO no kidding. After reading the horror stories about Jiffy Lube I'll never go back to one of those places ever.

I'm just glad the 5 quarts you put in were oil and not beer!!

Good laugh....

There are horror stories about individuals doing it too so all those lining up with "Jiffy Lube" horror stories need to add the other side.

One example: A guy called into Car Talk not over 3 weeks ago. Could not understand why the oil dipstick kept showing zero after he added the required 5 1/2 qts. per the owners manual. Well, he added the fluid to the automatic transmission.

I got an email from someone once with pictures and a story. One story was about a woman going to a dealership to get the 710 changed. She kept telling they guy to check the 710. The service rep scratched his head and asked her again. Finally after several minutes he asks her to show him what she is talking about. She pops the hood on her car and points to a cap on the engine and says see 710. The service rep removes the cap and puts it back on so now it reads OIL

Now that's funny!
