Oil Change Pump

I use a K&N air filter. Do you use the the K&N oil filter? How does it perform? Does it last longer than others?

It have a K & N intake with a filter wrap. And yes I use there filters too! IMO and also many other studies they are one of the top three in the market. They last like all other filters, but they filter exceptionally better. I change my oil ever 7k and my filters ever 3.5K since I use Redline synthetic oils.

I wouldn't use one of those machines/pumps to change my oil. I worked at a Ford dealership who used to siphon oil out from the dip stick tube for samples. We would show the customer the sample so he/she could see the condition of the oil and choose an oil change or not. Well one day the tube got caught on the crank case and couldn't come loss with out us having to drop the oil pan and physically unhinging it. Ironically the car was there for an oil change and got a free oil pan gasket and oil change. Needless to say that little program was stopped shortly after that lol.

K&N oil filters are good but are over priced for what they are WIX, Motorcraft, Puraltor ONe (blue oil filters), and Nappa Gold filter just as good as K&N and cheaper.

Puralator is good, it what I have on our vehicles. Also for air intakes, K&N is overrated as well and pain to tkae care of, whenever I bought a custom intake for a vehicle from them even after I cleaned it and used very little oil the maf sensors would get screwey especially on Fords from the oil coating it. I use Amsoil's new universal filters now that breath better and to clean all you do is basically wipe it down or use a vacuum sucker attachment, pkus you can adapt them to stock boxes or even the tubes used by K&N and others. Made a custom cold air unit with my stock air box with it, I noticed a slightly difference over the Mac intake I had, actually from the temp readings I'm running slightly cooler air charge since there isn't any chrome heating up/getting warm like the Mac.

Yes they are overpriced but what isn't? However, none of those have the big 1" head to take off the filter! And I would say Puraltor is the best out of the bunch you just mentioned.

IMO....K&N is easy to take care of. Every so often clean in and re-oil it...you just have to be smarter than the filter. However the only thing you have to worry about with is the oil from any aftermarket filter getting into the mass air flow sensor...but I have never had that happen. A lot of people are making there own custom intake due to the flooded market with so many intakes, filters, and new technologies!

As far as paper air filters I would take a all that I mentioned as they have the best reviews that I have read. For those who want to really learn about filters and lubrications visit Bobistheoilguy dot com thee best forum I have seen for these type of topics and reviews with some data to back up claims.
