I know I saw this earlier someone was talking about seeing a big name performer on stage. Their guitar looked like crap with all theswirls and fingerprints on it. My daughter plays every Sunday at our church and I noticed all the marks on her guitar. I was wondering what do you guys use on it? She told me not to use my car stuff on it because it will hurt the finish on her guitar. Any help? TIA

I use Dunlop Formula No.65, it cleans and polishes all in one. It makes my Fender Hot Rod look brand new.

Ive been playing for 16 years. Ive polished every electric ive ever owned with some type of car product. It simple lacquer clearcoat. Totaly polishable. I like xmt360 for a quick cleanup. Acoustics can be lacquered... or some are finished with a raw wood finishing oil...so do your homework first. But most guitars can be polished with car products no problem.

p.s. your arm sweat and fingerprints are unavoidable when your onstage. :righton: ;)So dont judge it like a show car...;)

I just have to ask, are you by chance the 331erock that's on YouTube?

Yeah, I think it depends on the finish on the wood whether you can use a paint polish on it. But, I would think anything that is lacquer finish or CC could have car specific products safely used on it. I would think the all purpose Pledge will work most instruments as long as it doesn't leave them slippery.
